hello i build zen carbon fliter homemade do it yourself guide and i was wonder my grow area is 3x4 and 4 feet tall it a good size of veg room i was wondering what a good fan would be to air it out so no smell of any kind?

a 4" fan will do you fine but if you wanna make sure you have NO smell what so ever go with the 6" fan.

i got a 120mm computer fan and blow out 80 cfm would that do the trick or better using a household fan or what kind of fan?

Inline fans are the best, but you can use a household fan

are inline fan duct fans?and if so how quiet r they or r they loud?

Yes, they can be quiet, youcan also insulate the area surrounding the fan to reduce noise. Also, using a 6" fan & reducing down to 4" for the filter will give you the power you want, but a smaller filter

True. I have a 6" air coolable hood and 4" filter and fan so I just picked up two extensions and hooked it up. I'll snap some pics in a minute to show you.

my room temp is fine i just need a good sucker to fliter out the smell thats all my carbon fliter in like 5" so i have to go for a 5" there one that with go to 150cfm with air flow

I use a 4" vortec in a slightly bigger room without a problem. 4x4x8 w/2xT5 floros. They are only as loud as a bathroom vent fan. hope this helps.

a 5" filter????? You might have some trouble finding stuff to hook that up with or you could get 6" stuff and just have to tighten it down real tight. I used those rings with the screws at the top you can tighten and what not. Works real good to make it all airtight.

A new bathroom vent fan or the one @ most places I've lived, where it sounds like a helicopters about to crash into yer bathroom?

my carbon is 4 almosted 5 and then a 5 will fit nicely trust me man

ok cool I just don't know where you can find 5" ducting I only found 4,6,8 and so on.

the 5 only for carbon to blow the air from the room and then my hood 6 so i need 3 fans 2 5" and 1 for my hps hood that is 6
only thing i gotta do is get the fan and build the other carbon fliter and im set....

Might want to get that fan checked Wherethehellami-lol My vortek isnt loud at all. Have it mounted on outside of box sucking through a can150 carbon filter, also using ona gel. Smells clean, fresh.
