Caregivers Lose Privacy Rights if Bill 1043 Passes

baddog, sorry you've had bad experiences, but lumping all dispensaries together would be like me calling you a caregiver that is only in it for the $$ you make illegally selling on the back end. I don't know you and you don't know me. so don't make assumptions that make you look like the ass.
One does not need to make 'assumptions' as you say to know the intent of CMMR pre-1284 and the $1.4 million they raised SOLELY from dispensaries in order to have their lobbyists push for a monopoly in this industry. Nor does one need to make assumptions when a dispensary owner was whining at a DOR meeting complaining about caregivers selling $200 ounces on Craigslist. Very few dispensaries were against 1284 and the ones that were got out of it like myself, Kathleen Chippi, and a few others did. We've been paving this road for over 25 years with the sole purpose of removing oppressive laws, NOT so a few of you can corner the market while shutting everyone else out. And your statement about caregivers selling illegally on the backend is complete hypocrisy considering that what you are doing is not only still illegal on the Federal level but was also questionable pre-1284. Don't act like such a fucking saint.

besides, you obviously don't have enough knowledge to make an informed remark. do you know how many shops are failing because of bad management or bad growers? if those same Disp with sucky growers was instead able to obtain high quality meds from a caregiver (eg:like Cali allows) then they wouldn't be failing. but they must stick with the 70/30 rule, and therefor will fail. So why would those disp. want to cut out the caregiver? just one example of many, why your logic fails.
You are funny, you make it sound like dispensaries and CMMR had nothing to do with 1284, is that your contention? A lot of dispensaries are now feeling the reality of 1284 but that doesnt mean they didnt think it was a good idea at the time. Sounds like buyers remorse.

Not all dispensaries are out to eliminate caregivers.
Some of us used to be caregivers and had to step up in order to prevent kicking patients to the curb.
Some of us provide assistance to caregivers whenever we can.
Some of us did not support HB10-1284 in the least.
Some of us have given patients more assistance than you ever could.

Why you gotta be a dick ? We are all in the same mess here.
You're right not all are out to eliminate caregivers but a lot of them are and I don't think you can deny that.

never got a dime from us. so you getting out makes everyone else 'bad'? I don't disagree that a lot of the laws are BS. and the statement re:caregivers selling has nothing to do with patient-to-patient sales, I'm talking about those 'caregivers' growing to sell outside the state, no hypocrisy there, just plain truth. my only complaint with P2P sales (and most dispensary sales as well, but they are more trackable and liable) is the potential harm re: pesticides/molds. other then that, I could care less - CA clearly shows that both can exist together and demand for product is there reguardless. see ... once again you paint everyone with the same paintbrush. seems like in your world all is black or white.

I don't understand what all the fuss is about. I live in Oregon, and here you have to list where the grow site is. If it is your own than you list that address, if you have a grower than you list their address along with a copy of their drivers license. Seems a lot better than having to take the risk of getting caught and possibly getting a felony for manufacturing.

well from the little i understand about this bill you also have to notify the local po po of the grow site and the grow site will also be a matter of public record as well. i dont want every dirty cop and hood rat knowing where i grow. someone correct me if i am wrong...

WARNING: DUI/THC BLOOD DRAWS ALREADY ON THE RISE
The Denver Post last week reported that the number of blood samples sent to the health department (CDPHE) by police to be tested for THC has been rapidly increasing since 2009. In 2009, the police sent about 800 blood samples to the CDPHE. In 2010, the number of blood samples taken by police doubled to over 1600 tests. In 2011, police have sent the CDPHE over 1100 tests, in just the first three months of the year.
The CDPHE cannot handle this large influx in blood samples, so currently
has a backlog of 1,176 samples waiting to be tested.
In 2010, 29% of the samples tested had THC greater than 5ng/mL, and some of the samples also tested positive for another drug.

Dispenseries open theyre doors in July 2011. The boom is about to happen there, fuck CO MMJ its fucked, every month the laws change. I'mma jump on that boom in AZ like I should have here in CO 5 years ago..

Meh, I would do a little more research if I were you. I looked into AZ and thought it sounded way worse than CO. I will go to either Mich or Maine if I leave CO.

I do believe this bill passed last week. (HB1043)
So anyone that's a registered caregiver must sign up with the DOR as of July 1st, 2011 and be subject to inspection, zoning, obtaining a permit (with an unspecified cost still) from the DOR. This is total BS.
I'm stepping down as a caregiver, my patients are livid.
And additionally the Feds are threatening the state now because of this new bill (1043) saying it violates federal law, and that state officials won't be exempt from prosecution.
Or rather from the feds showing up, saying "hand over the list" and the DOR complying. Then raiding at random anyone who was dumb enough to sign up. Good luck! The state legislators ruined what was looking to be a great system for medical marijuana distribution. It's all gone to the biggest lobbyists in the last year. And that means the wrong direction for small, private caregivers.
They want you hittin that dispensary, err sorry MMJ center. Oh and by the by....they also put an extended moratorium on anyone hoping to open an MMJ center as of July 1st, 2011. Instead of having the framework in place and licensing out more, they want to keep things just the way they are and lockout any new players. So they added a moratorium until July 1st, 2012 on applications. Fun stuff. Too bad not enough people are responding to the counter bills, like the one to overturn 1284. Most people in this industry worry only about their immediate selves, business, friends, and family. Worrying little about their active participation in activism.
Which means things will slowly and surely get worse, not better. State legislators are derailing the whole system, piece by piece.

The GOV still needs to sign it but, yea. It passed.

I too am sadly dropping my remaining patients :( Sad times ...

Looks like it's time to find an MMC to sign up with. At least the wife and I can still grow our 12.

So you can sign up with a MMC as your caregiver and still have your 12 too? I take it you and your wife both have your cards?

Okay folks... good source elsewhere... already had a visit by the Awowa police... you can prob find the thread.

What I got out of it is that they are coming, and by means of search warrants through the registry list... to ensure that you are compliant, and to even offer an opportunity to tighten up ship should they have concerns. The word is that they are openly stating that this is happening, and for CG's to get ready. They were apparently polite, but with warrant... gave him a follow-up appt to come back to check him off the list, should he get up to snuff.

That's the word... I believe it. The stormtroopers are literally coming.
