SO I have a buddy who is starting a crop soon in one of the Eastern Caribbean islands and am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for which strains may work best.

Thanks

heh, well your buddy is probably gonna want a sativa (sativas grow better in tropics). The sativa responds well to a fairly consistent daylight/nighttime temperatures and like the warmer more humid weather which is why their buds are rather airy/mold resistant.

Indicas in the tropics can be done, but are better off for colder drier outdoor climates or indoor growing. You just need an indica which is pest resistant, vigorous in warmer weather, and mold resistant, not to mention potent (very few)

So tell buddy to grow a sativa

Cool. He is sick of smoking the trash the islands have to offer (except jamaica). My suggestion was to get some seeds from Jamaica since they produce incredibly potent herb and obviously work well in the tropics. The downside is the best herb there grows really tall and isn't exactly covert.

He had mentioned he likes the more stoney effects of indicas, but I would think a really strong sativa will satisfy nicely.
