Cfl Grow Out Of Control

My plant has quickly grown into a small bush and im wondering if i can trim some of the lower fan leaves. Not because of the many bud sites not getting light, aswell as an abundance of leaves, but because the protruding fan leaves are getting too large for my dark-chamber. Lots of room to grow up however.

Notice the very red stems, im not sure what to think of them.

Never trim fan leafs off a plant. Fan leafs is a source of light intake and also trimming the plant will stress it. Leave it alone unless the leafs are dead

Yeah.. i expected this reply.. can i at least stretch the plant a little without effecting yield negatively? It has not grown vertically very much, and some height on this plant would be perfect.

you dont need to cut the fan leaves, would you cut the leaves of a lemon tree to make the sun light reach the actual lemon, probably not,
the leaves will provide the buds with everything it needs to develop and once it's used up everything from the leaves it will fall off
if anything, just tuck in the fan leaves or tie them

Thats a NICE plant!! Well, stretch is the last thing you want with CFLs. Don't worry, as soon as you start flowering, it will shoot up faster than you know it.

i've had a similar situation, i use a 15 x 38 inch tube for some cfl's grows
plant was butting up against the side walls pretty good, just arranged the leaves as best i could and made her fit
grow finished out well, you can push a plant around as long as you don't make it too extreme

if the branches are long enough you could gently tie some string around the branch and tie the other end to a lower part of the container or some thing to move it out of the way a bit
