Cfl issues

I had three cfls running on a suspended vanity bar two 6500k 26w and one 2700k 42w the day after I put these lights in my plants have been getting awefully dry and slightly yellowed looking and the soil is boen dry every day about 1.5 inches down. I took out the 42w because the box is pretty warm whenever I open it up (only using a computer fan for exhaust and thats just circulating air). Had to cut half of one of my white widows true leaves off because it was brown and spreading.

Any ideas on what I should do?

What were the temps? You're going to have to get a proper intake and exhaust in there somehow, or they will die.

no proper air movement, too high temps.. Imho,.. You need to grow in more of an open area with bigger fans etc.. You grow op needs a makeover. You can do it. Good luck :)

You didn't mention the distance from the plants to the lights? Anyway, it sounds like you are underwatering. Are they drooping? What size pots? 1 1/2" of dry soil is alot, if you have pots that are 6" and smaller. Especially with those high temps. I grew all summer long(indoors) with temps close to 100* and never had a problem. I had to water them everyday, but as fast as the soil was drying out, it never hurt them one bit.
