cfl or 400w HPS?

My grow area is 3x3. Should I consider cfl or just go 400w HPS?

If you can ventilate HPS, then go HPS. It's going to be much better for flowering.

I have a 3x2x4 cab that has produced some very respectable flowering results from a 400W HPS. I use a large 200W CFL for vegeing. No gro at the moment but maybe in a bit....good luck with your effort, keep it simple - light-water-nutrients and it'll grow like a weed. Walk On!~

if u can venitlate def 400watter..night and day from cfl..take my word if u want to shoot for qp to a half on ur first run get the HID lamp and air cool it with a fan and a good hood that has a 6'' vent. also highly recommend getting a switchable ballast and 2 bulbs..mh for veg and hps for budding...you'll end up with more weed this way by getting a bigger rootball healthier foliage with the mh during veg.
