Cfl Problem?

So i have a 42 watt cfl and it seems as if the bulb has come loose from the ballast or something. it seems stable however the bulb has a slight movement inside of the ballast. i cant pull out or in on it. it just wobbles up and down. is this normal. all of my other cfl are not the spiral kind so this is my only one of these. also the ballast is a shade or yellow now, used to be white. also is this ok?

If you could take a picture it would help a great deal. The ballast on one of my 40w spiral CFL's actually popped off exposing what looked like a circuit board. I was able to just pop it back on and it snapped back together and we were good to go. If the bulb is farther out of the ballast than it's supposed to be see if you're able to push it back in gently. Ultimately, if the light is as bright as it was before then I'm guessing you should be alright regardless unless of course it poses a safety hazard. Good luck.
