Hi I just made a aero cloner ina 5 gal bucket air stone sprayer ect now I had no to to mount a light above it so I brought cheap 3 gal bucket a cfl holder and a extension cord I chopped the cord attacted to the holder and put in the smallest cfl I could find and mounted it inside the bucket and then put the bucket on the top of my aero cloner do u think a cfl could burn or catch a bucket on fire I also added some slot and holes in the top of the bucket for ventilation as I don't need the bucket to hold humidity

If you're in the US you can use Cree LED "lightbulbs" from Home Depot. They're 30-40% more efficient than CFL, run much cooler and a 10-year warranty. They cost a little more up front. But, if heat is a concern (and it would be if you're not actively ventiliating that enclosed space), that's the way to go.

Even better would be SMD5730 strip LEDs. You could line the bucket with those. All the LEDs would point at the plant, unlike an omni-directional light in a socket. These are 10-20% more efficient than the Cree lightbulbs. And, they're 12 volt which makes them easier/safer to work with. (No need for a protective globe).

CFLs are good if you're in a cold climate and need the added heat. Or, if you're on a budget and can't afford $5 more for a light.

That's a pretty nifty build man, props to you. I wouldn't think you'd have much to worry a out with one small cfl. Plus, they're clones. Temps can get up to 100F without much concern if I'm not mistaken.
