Looking good congrats you are on your way
Thanks :D

Has anyone tried using one of those ozone generators to remove smell? I'm having some fan issues... The case fan I'm using isn't powerful enough with the filter on (causes the temp to go up by like 10 degrees) but I don't really think I can put a much louder fan in there or it'd be noticeable. I am going to try to make a filter with more surface area and a thinner layer of carbon but I'm afraid if it doesn't work and I don't find a solution soon I might have to call it game over :-/

Nice, reminds me of my setup with the red party cups. Will you be flowering in those cups or are you just veging. If your flowering, what do you expect for yields from each plant. Im pushing for 10g per plant.

What is your ventilation setup exactly? How many fans and where?
I have one fan at the top of the box on one of the narrow sides just under the handle grip. I have one large ventilation hole directly across from it but at the bottom of the setup. I also have a second small side intake (it was the original intake and didn't work well enough, I might actually cover it). One thing I've been doing to keep the temperature down is use a room humidifier in the closet with it. It puts out cool vapor and keeps the humidity at a steady 55%.

I am thinking about buying a larger duct fan possibly but sound is definitely an issue. I had tried using a much larger house fan but it was much too loud (though it regulated temperature WONDERFULLY).

I am in the beginning of my 2nd week of flowering right now. I intend to use the cups for the duration and have no yield expectations. I am hoping to get something near the 7g mark like bombdigity, though he suggested using better soil / nutes for better yields (which I am doing). I'm just going to hope for the best and be happy with what I get, somethin' is better than nothin'.

How many bulbs are you running? Try unscrewing one or 2 you will see a difference.

bombdiggity is a dr bud student as am I. I recomend using the soda containers like we do they will hold a bit more soil than the cups and you can fit more of them in there

I have 8 bulbs running.

Is it worth my while to start that process (and thus transplant) or should I just keep that in mind for the next one?

Edit: Also, after reading through a lot of your grow journal I noticed you talked about intentional stretch but never found the page where you explained exactly why you were stretching. Is this something I should be considering right now? If you explained this early on, I admittedly read like the first two pages and then started reading backwards, so I apologize if it was on the 3rd page or something :P.

I wouldnt bother transplanting just something to keep in mind for next time, as far as the stretch it reall applies when working from clone, you want to find the "sweet spot" for your strain once its found they finish right under your lights. in most cases i start with a 3-4 inch clone

Do you know the square footage of your area?? You can reach a point when having additional bulbs becomes a minus and not a plus.........8 sounds like too many IMHO maybe cut back to 4 until you develop a canopy then add more bulbs..........

My mom and clone box is 2 ft wide 2ft tall and 1 ft deep I have 3 moms and about a dozen clones at a time and I only use 2 26w cfls I will post pics of the plants and box if you like

Was hoping this was the case ;) I'll keep it in mind for the next time, thanks.

My box is 20in x 36in which if my math isn't absolutely wrong (a good possibility) means that I have 5 sq ft. The smell isn't too bad quite yet so I've managed to keep the temperature right around 80 with no filter.
I am going to try getting some carbon sheets and build a bigger filter to see if that works out a bit better. I am also considering a 2 fan solution, but if it'll be ok to just unscrew a few lights, then that sounds great!

Sure, I'd definitely like to see! I might have to follow in your footsteps in that regard, I like the micro style.

Thanks, yah, I guess I'll unscrew 2 bulbs for right now.

Its day 22, and I just found my first two males. They definitely have balls, so they're getting the axe. I *think* I found my first two females too though! I'll snap some photos later tonight or tomorrow.

I hav run several 12/12 from seed I would say top the ones that you think are female and clone them right in your box...........

How exactly would that work? I know that topping causes the plants to split and grow two shoots in that spot. Would I just cut one of them as a clone instead of letting it grow for budding? How big would it have to be before I cut it?

If you look at the first part of my journal you will see that I would wait for sex to show then I would top the plant ( the portion you cut off you use for a clone) at the time I was only running one box so my clones would root under 12/12. 2 of the moms in the pic were grown 12/12 from seed, I harvested them then reveged them and they are now moms

Day 26 update:

I've thrown away 3 males and 1 hermie. The rest of the plants appear to be females :) so I guess grand daddy statistics was on my side!

The temperature problems have been resolved by getting a better computer case fan. I'm running a 120mm fan rather than an 80mm and made a filter out of a coffee can and some activated carbon replacement filters for a humidifier. I also am using a humidifier in the closet with the box to keep the closet temperature down as well as the humidity up. The temperature as you can see also in the pic is hovering around 77.

Everything is looking happy and healthy. Here is a top down of the box and a pic from one of the air intakes on the side.

I must say that this is awsome info. It seems like we have 2 mastermind micro growers comeing together to help this young jedi!! HAHAHA Sorry mind kinda slipped out for a bit!!

I am taking lots of notes!! Great info!!

Can't wait to see what kind of tastey bud you pull!!

Since you use those small containers how many times do you replant?

You plant the seeds and run the lights for 24/7 until about 2inch then switch them over to 12/12 for flowering and let them run rampide??

What hieght does he cut them to veg?? And this method can be used as a never ending process?? Just keep chopping and veggin under 12/12??

Thanks again!! I am a total nooober!!:leaf: Peace out brothas!

My homemade tent is exactly 20x36x54...

I run a 600 watt HPS in there....

VENTILATE PROPERLY and you will have no more issues...

Best of Luck...

Hey all,

Things have been going pretty smoothly and we are getting some frosty buds! We expect to harvest in about 2 more weeks (I have some tall Sativa-dominant ladies that might take a little longer, though). Major bud porn then...
