CFL seedling/veg question

OK so I plan on using about 6-8 CFLs, maybe even more as time goes by, for about 20 seedlings and the beginning of the vegetative stage in my 3.5x3.5 closet. I don't plan on using these the whole time because I'm transplanting outside around May 1st (4/20 the earliest ).

I guess my question is: I've heard CFLs produce lighter and less buds, but I'm only going to be using it for about half the vegetative. Would this in any way affect my buds since they'll be finishing/flowering outside?

you should be fine to do that. the only difference i can see is that when using the cfl's they may be a little stretchy versus vegging them under a metal halide. although i have seen some short bushy plants under cfl's. but it shouldnt any bad effect to your buds all the much.
