I recently purchased a wattage meter and tested these store bought CFLs and here are my results:

~100hrs use
Lights of America 26W 5300K (1) - 25W
Lights of America 26W 5300K (2) - 25W

~1000hrs use
Bright Effects 65W 2700K (1) - 60W
Bright Effects 65W 2700K (2) - 47W
General Electric 26W 2700K (1) - 20W
General Electric 26W 2700K (2) - 20W

~3000hrs use
Meijer Natural White 45W 4100K - 35W
General Electric 42W 2700K (1)- 33W
General Electric 42W 2700K (2)- 33W

Taking into account that none of the bulbs were tested straight from the packaging the results are not totally conclusive but none had surpassed their half-life. What is conclusive is that Bright Effects has a quality control problem and I'm glad I saved my receipt. =)
