how many CFLs do you recommend in a 2x2 area? i have (6) 23 watt CFLs right now. they give the best wattage to lumen ratio.

i definitely plan on adding more for flowering but didnt know the recommended wattage.

right now they are positioned about 1.5-2 inches above the plants. the additional bulbs will be put more towards the sides.

any advice is appreciated.

how many plants are you putting in that 2x2? I would say 6 bulbs would work for up to 2 short (like 10" or less) vegging plants, but I would definitely go with more if you can. Definitely make sure you have good side lighting with CFL. keep all those bulbs close.

I know what type and temp color to use. That wasn't my question. I wanted to know how many CFLs to use in my area.

I have two plants that are around 6". Thanks for the tip on side lighting. And i will definitely grab a few more for my flowering cycle to ensure decent bud production.

depends on how many watts the bulbs are. can't go wrong with more light. put as much as will fit. use all 6 23w's and get more until u can't fit anymore around the plants. for a 2x2 area im guessing 1-3 plants. 200-500 watt veg
