I was reading the topic about CFL's and i want to work with them lights, but i got confused when i saw people using diferent light types ((2600k, 6700k, bla bla )). I wanted to know for my PC grow case, how many of CFL's i need to buy, what types of lights, and explain me what is the better ones for the stages of the plant (( Seed -> Veg -> Flower )).

Waiting for an answer, thanks.

The more the better. They say atleast 100watts per plant min. And you can't just bla bla bla the issue for color temp. when it comes to your babies. You want what is called a cool bulb that is rated at 5000 kelvin or greater for veg. And for flower you'll want a warm bulb rated for around 2100 kelvin. It matters.

Who is the "they" that says 100w per plant?

read this and then tell me the dimensions of your case and how many plants and how big you plan to get them and if you plan on using any topping or training and how big of containers you plan to use and will you need to use smell control? I'll try to help you, if not tonight i'll be back on tommorow.
I'm looking for a better PC Box because the one i got is kinda small, but lets says:

Width 210 mm
Height 532 mm
Depth 520 mm

and i'm searching how to control the plant odor of course. And i'm thinking of growing 2 plants at the same time. Or only 1. Dunkno yet.

well, you could try to build a mini carbon filter or you could get these cfls they have now that purify air removing odors and other particles in the air. i think you'd be fine to flower 1 bigger plant or 2 smaller ones , even with training the plant i think you might find yourself short on space with more than that, but unless you get fem seeds i'd veg 3 or 4, it really sucks to have your only plant be a male. 4-6 of the 26w air purifying cfls should be alright. I think autoflowers might work pretty good for you too. Just dont expect alot of bud with your setup(not knocking you or your pc case, nothing wrong with doing smaller plants in a small grow area, i was just being honest with you as to what to expect and maybe even save you from greater disappointment down the road.)

I know that i will produce a low amount of bud, but its the only way to not get caught you know? Anyway, thanks for your honest comment.

hey, everone here has told you what to use.
Can I ask what size the PC case is? And are you Hydro, soil , or other??
Yeah, CFLs in my experiance, which is small are great for indoor, or in your case, stealth growing. From my experiance with 125watt plug and grows and now 250watt plug and grows, the minium you will need is two bulbs, one in the 2700k and one at 6200k. These are the two respective light spectrums a plant needs to grow. However Im growing with one and then the other and have no adverse effects. Using the 6200k as a veg grow light and then the 2700k for the flowering. The 6200k is a blue light and 2700k as a red light.
If your not using femaine seeds blue light tends to produce more females, from my experiance and red more males, so from me using one then the other I have found more females are produced. About a ratio of every 4 plants one has come out male.
So for your grow inside the reflective PC Case , depending on if the buld will fit in. (PLUG AND GROW bulds tend to be about a half inch smaller in lenght.Envirolites are slightly longer in lenght.) This is me talking about the 5 lights I have, only using two in two rooms(boxes) and 3 are plug and grow and others are envirolites.
This is why I ask what size the case is.
Personally I would go for maybe two 250watters one in each spectrum. This way you are covering your bases for amount of light and the power consumption of the 250's compared to th 125's isnt a massive jump up BUT THE LUX is!!!!!!!.
You will find slighty more heat from the 250's, but maybe a degree(c) inside your enclosed PC case.
Hope that helps/.
Take it easy...

Hey calbunn, have you actually grown with cfls then switched to induction grow lights?
Its just I have been thinking about trying a new setup. I just wonder is four times the dry smke wieght actually true. Surely all other aspects of the grow room(temp.RH.CO2 PPM's.etc)would have to be at optimal for both grows to make an objective comparison.
Im just asking as I would like to upgrade my lighting(maybe) because the cfls are near the end of there life, a measly 8,000hr and that not encluding the bulds deteration over time.
What kind of temps are we looking at, ?????
Take it easy.
