How much money do you make?

Is $20 an hour a livable salary?

I have been going to college for a few years now and am set to earn my AA degree by the end of this semester. I have taken mostly science classes, bio, chem, O chem, math, physics, genomics. I had planned on doing something in the animal science field. Lately i have been unsure if this is the best path for me.

When i graduated high school i had planned on going to a tech school for machine tool tech. I took a lot of shop classes in high school like welding an mechanic classes. I was raised on a farm and am mechanically inclined. But during the summer after graduation i decided to do the animal sciencey thing.

I have been thinking about getting my AA degree and then going to a tech school to do the machine tool thing but looking at the average salary of an expirienced machinist being only $20 an hour i dont know if that sounds like a good plan.

Can a person live COMFORTABLY on that kind of money. keep in mind that 20 after taxes is more like 15 or 16.

dude i live very comfortable on 682 a month. you dont need a lavish hood to rent in. or a new car. or the nicest clothes. there are lots of cheap places. but one thing is true, one day you will buy a house. so my advice is instead of blowing all the money on renting. rent cheap save hard and buy when you can because in time a foreclosure for 18,000 will get you 50,000 or more. i saw a cnn video a 15 yr old who couldnt drive but owned 2 of such properties. 15

$682 a month wouldn't even get you a studio where I live

I love the Navajo solution to Mother-in-laws. It's taboo for the mother-in-law to be in the same room with her son-in-law. If one of them walks in the other leaves. No one gets hurt.

i want to get involved in the mmj industry, that is truly what i would enjoy doing for a living. Although it seems tough to get into the industry without having connections.
