Change of medium,what size pots?.

I have been growing using a Wilma drip system using pebbles,i must admit that im not that keen on it and have decided to convert to Coco and hand feed as it is so much more controllable etc,my friends have had great results with it.
My question is which pots to use,i read that the ideal volume should be 11l but my wilma pots are 6.5l,will this be detremental to the grow or should i just buy 11l when i change, cheers for your input.

11 l.(3 gallon) is the perfect size for indoor growing. I just tested both 2,3 and 5 gallon pots, and settled on 3 gallon. All three sizes produced the same sized final product, but the 2 and 5 had drawbacks. The 2 gallon dried out a little too fast, was pushing rootbind, and was a little finicky getting the feeding just right. The 5 gallon worked great, but no better than the 3 gallon, and it used more soil. So, I decided that the 3 gallon is the way to go.

I definitely recommend going to 11l because the extra soil gives you more leeway in a few areas, as opposed to the 6.5l. Mainly, they hold moisture longer, and are less prone to running deficient on nutes.(more soil = larger buffer zone)

Thanks jawbrodt for the reply, nice to get a second opinion,i have already bought the 11l pots but realised that i was going to lose some growing area with the bigger pots so questioned the choice, you have put mind mind at rest now, thanks again.
