Charlie Chaplin Film Reveals Cell Phone, Time Traveler?

Okay, I'm not saying I believe this to be true. I just thought it was something interesting to talk about.

This may be the most bizarre story you’ll read all week.Irish filmmaker George Clarke made a startling discovery while watching his DVD copy of Charlie Chaplin’s 1928 film “The Circus.”

As he screened DVD extra footage of the movie’s Hollywood premiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, Clarke caught the image of what appears to be a stocky old woman chatting on – a cell phone. The black-and-white scene is peculiar, to say the least, if only for the obvious reason that the mobile phone wasn’t invented until the early ‘70s.

In the footage, the woman appears in frame with her hand to her ear and her mouth moving; she crosses the screen and turns, happily chatting as the scene cross-fades. The eerie old lady clearly has something in her hand and – seeing as how the woman is alone – she appears to be talking into or at it.

Clarke half-jokingly muses that the footage has captured a “time traveler,” and even goes as far surmising that the old lady in the film is, in fact, a man in disguise. He is also pretty certain that the item in this person’s hand is, without a doubt, a cell phone.

The “stumped” filmmaker took to YouTube looking for help in explaining this unexplainable image and the video eventually fell into the hands of film critic Roger Ebert, who posted it on his blog. Check out the video below and feel free to skip Clarke’s explanation and go right to the eerie footage at the 2:40 mark:

So, what do you think? Is this person an undercover time-traveler sent back to 1928 to attend a Charlie Chaplin premiere? And, more importantly, if this person is, indeed, talking on a cell phone – who are they talking to?

Here's the link to check out the video.

there's actually a possible way to "time travel".

But its not possible.. the way that you would think it would be. Such as this story.. its def. just a bunk tale (story).

Now, there are scientist that think time travel is actually possible. But not for humans.. not yet anyhow. Scientists are currently studying "worm holes" or what some people refer to as "portals" or a "time vortex".

But, when it comes to time travel.. you also have to understand physics. The clock only ticks one way my friend. Time passes more slowly the closer you approach the speed of light. As such, the hands of a clock in a speeding train would move more slowly than those in a stationary clock. The difference would not be humanly noticeable, but when the train pulled back into the station, the two clocks would be off by billionths of a second. Bet you didn't realize that. :)

However, If there was a train that could attain 99.999 percent light speed, only 1 year would pass on-board for every 223 years back at the train station. Crazy right? Not really.. its just psychics. Time actually moves just a tad faster in space.. than it does here on Earth.

So.. there are alot of different things that affect time. Speed.. and I think mass effect how quickly or slowly time travels.. or moves. Time slows down the closer you are to the center of a massive object too.. so there are a TON of things you have to consider.. when speaking about ACTUAL time travel.

So again, that story, IMO.. is nothing but a tale. A short story.. if you will. Good story none the less, but def. not true. Not even possible. :)

peace.

Happy Halloween everyone..

Back to 1928 to correct that mistake... don't worry, this video will not exist tomorrow.
