Cheap but good LED for a 3'x1.5' tent?

@rob333 I'm not sure you understand what goes into various led components. I'm not sure you have any electrical experience (say putting a computer together) or any scientific research to back your opinions. I can say definitively that HID lighting has it's place. I can also definitively say that Led lighting is not for "cheap cunts" as you put it.

In this thread you have growers that have real world, successful experiences, with most every type of lighting on the market. The diy options that were suggested, for the most part, are quality components that do not have commercial listings for insurance purposes. This fact and the fact you assemble them and service them yourself saves you in cost of the fixture. This does not make the light "cheap"

A $10 hps bulb is not generally the same quality as a $80 bulb right?

Have you ever personally used a led light? If so please do share your experience because it seems like you are pretty biased and might have purchased a light a few years ago with cheap parts and have been soured.

If you don't have any led experience, ...the fuck dude?

Edit: And what state/country do you live in that your illegality is based on the lights you use and not the plants themselves? That really boggles my mind and I've never heard of that, I'm actually curious on this.
weres your graphs ??? not into reading novels i go on what is sold in my country and not 1 led light has made it on the market here none says alot about leds if not one hydro shop will buy them also i have seen led grows last one was from cali light works least to say i was not impressed or the guy that paid near on 1200 for it and no can not get it refunded not answering his emails soooo says alot about leds

Does this mean that these LED's are 30-40% cooler than HID?

Gavita Pro 1650e LED ML

Gavita Pro 1650e LED ML

The Gavita Pro 1650e LED ML is a 1650 µmol s-1 fixture with an efficiency of 2.6 µmol s-1 per Watt. ML stands for Multi-Layer, as the array of LEDs provides a uniform spread of light at a short distance to the crop. The 8-bar configuration allows you to use it in low rooms, over single benches, or even in 4x4' or 5x5’ tents.

  • High efficiency (2.6 μmol s-1 per Watt)
  • High output for high intensity (1650 μmol s-1)
  • Reduced HVAC requirement (30-40% less)
  • High-quality 120-277V Philips Advance drivers
  • Top bin LEDs
  • Balanced full spectrum
  • External control
  • Priva control compatible

Hydro shops are all about margins you wont see them selling cheap nutrients even though they work just as good or better than the bottled shit. Cali light works is shit no one is saying those are good the lights people praise on these forums have twice as much output. Having a problem with 1 company doesn't make a product bad...that's like says Ford sucks guess that means cars don't work

I have this tent also. Slapped a qb96v2 in it. attached to a Hlg 240-54a. Have it dimmed down to 120watts for veg right now. I actually have 2 qb96's. It's a bit much in such a small tent.

I'll know pretty quick if the QB120's are beating my tent full of Home depot CFL's. My guess is it won't even be close.

I've just just overhauled my grow in the last few weeks and feeling the money pinch. New tent, new larger pots and a ton of new medium. It seemed a shame to upgrade everything to new and leave my crappy cfl lighting.

I could have saved $100 and improved my grow somewhat, but decided to spent $200 and improve my grow greatly.

4 x qb120's ended up being both a flower light and a veg light for another room.

I bought the 4 board kit and will use 3 for flower tent and one for the veg area. I'll need another driver for the veg light at $20 making my total $220 for two state of the art 3000k LED lighting systems. Not cheap but real good.

The boards have arrived already but I'm having to wait on wire and hangers before I can assemble.

Want to bet the farm on that?

It's no fad, we will be using LED until a better technology becomes available!

CFl didn't last because it was a step backwards in efficiency. LED is a step forward in efficiency.
