Okay Guys,
I am reasking the question, and I only have a 3 hour cap on answers.
SHOULD I SWITCH OVER TO 12/12 LIGHT CYCLE TO START FLOWERING???
I asked this question several days ago and only received one answer, so I am reasking. The catch is that I need to know before my dark cycle starts so I can change the timer over. I would like to know today so I can start my first day on a monday (yes I know its picky).

As of now I am on day 74 of vegging (from the day I stuck the seed in the dirt). And I would like to get these babies goin, but I want to make sure they are not too small to get a decient yeild.

Go right ahead it will flower taller I vegged mine for 2 months and am currently in flowering with good success pink hairs and crystals.

What lights will you be flowering with? and what did you veg with.

I flowered using 2 T5 HO 6500k tubes (bought from the Hydro store, owner swore by them and had a demo set-up using just 4), and 2 T12 5000k (cheap horrible) tubes. I plan on buying one more T5, and also switching out at least one of the bulbs with AgroSun's T5 2700k bulb. If I still am not happy with it I found in a green house supply magazine a 250w hps lamp, ballast, and reflector all together (compact design) for $79. But due to heat & electricity costs I would like to see if I can make the T5s work.

Thanks guys, I am switching my timer now. Super excited, only what two more months now, lol.

I am grateful for everyone's advice (from this and other threads). I have decided to start the 12/12 cycle to begin flowering. When I decided this I came to another wall.

I didn't know what times would be best. I have vegged them with lights on from 5:30am-11:30pm. When deciding what to do for 12 hours I thought 7am-7pm would be best (more natural), but I realized I leave for work at 5:30am, and usually don't get home until 9:30pm. SO, in order to best serve my schedule I programed my timer from 10am-10pm. Tonight (first night) my plants will get 10 1/2 hours of dark, then after that it is a 12/12 cycle from there.

I don't think this will cause any problems. And again I appreciate all your help. Take it easy, and good luck!

id switch to bigger pots before starting to flower so you dont have to do it later

If it were me i'd change the time's,your only leaving yourself a half hour window,that is nowhere near enough time to care for your plants,your best bet is to have your light cycle set so you can have as much access to the plants as possible.

Thanks for the tip, I was asking myself when I should do that. Now that you brought the matter to my attention I plan on switching to 3gal Wednesday.

First, you always have great advice in other peoples threads, really glad you've helped me out too. As for the half hour time scale, I have a little more than that. Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays I have a couple hours between work and class. Monday I am swamped, and Tuesdays I could make time (usually playing raquetteball on my free time). But in all reality I am still pressed for time. And while I take notice of your advice, there is really no other time I could do it. 10-10 fit my schedule the best (and it is still a poor fit, like a cheap condom).

do things right veg for 30 days (only) and bloom for 60 days all these guys tell u to veg for 2 months bull shit its all the same shit these are new guys telling u what to do and u get the same results!!!

take in mind they are going to double in size by the time there done flowering. i would start flowering if your in a hurry

His first post STATED he has vegged for 74 days already cancelling everything you said MR BK. I'm not no newbie to the world of cannabis and strains are different meaning adjust yourself to her. Vegging for 2 months then 8 to 12 Flowering is what alot of people do and get good and fat results.

Guys again, Thanks a ton. You all have me feeling confident in my recent decision. I have seen a couple of your threads and I know that some of you too have a garden growing. Good luck to you all! I will be keeping you all informed (through a thread, since I don't know how to do a journal). I have heard several of you say that they double in size as they flower..... I hope so! That will be some fat @$$ buds hopefully.

yeh some strains will only grow to a certain height regardless so vegging for longer than a month doesnt garuantee a bigger yeild,,but anyway yeh there good to flower now,,,,,,,peace
