Check my sorry pics out and give a reason why I should buy instead of growing.

I wrote a thread in another section but I wanted to try again in here, so please read what I got going-on and let me know what you think might be wrong.....Thank you

THC Bomb seeds , took six days to sprout with tap root long enough to place into starter cube. Then when the two embryonic leaves showed up I placed them in the DWC (my first time DWC) These pictures show them as of today, which makes them 21 days old. Fox Farm nutes cut down to an 1/8, PPM & PH right on the money. Four 100watt CFLs (since I thought would be ok for only the initial sprouting stage) 2 to 3 inches away from plants. 18/6 lighting (doesn't feel too hot at head of plant). These pics are all of the same plant (sorry, best I could do on pics) but all others are exactly the same width / height (as in pic 4 shows only to be a measly 1 1/4 inches tall) Temp stays at 79. WHY ? WHAT AM I DOING WRONG ? When I grow in soil/indoors, if I remember correctly, they would of been at least 3 times more in size........Maybe I have the worlds first Bonsai Weeds, after a few hundred plants I could roll a single joint. Any thoughts or words of wisdom here for me for encouragement, or criticize me - I'm ready, bring it on...

Im soil so Im not the best to offer advice on dwc. However I would encourage you to keep going, keep learning, and keep trying. Maybe after this go back to soil? Shoot man, dont let a setback put you off. Good Luck and Happy growing, hopefully some experienced members in your choice of medium will be able to help.

ive done dwc and I had mine at quarter strength (dm gold) nutes to start and under 400w then and they exploded past my hempys so I don't know. is this 100w actual cfl's. ? hope someone can help u, stick with it, its worth if you can get it right.

Their 32watt equal to 100watt, I got all four on this one plant. This plant, when it begins to flower, I was going to spray it with silver liquid so I can collect it's pollen. See, on the CFL's packaging container it reads as what I just wrote - so I am not real sure between the two wattages. I think the (32) is the actual power drain but it real is giving out the light brightness as a regular 100watt...? not real sure. If anyone is reading this and knows about this, could you let me know....many thanks:confused:

Hey.. LetsGetCritical...If your still on here.... Did you prefer DWC or you'd rather soil ? Thanks Man....... These pics are day 28

forget the equivalent rating crap :) DWC I prefer but I had ongoing temp issues (my climate not USA) DWC outperformed my hempy considerably. I am on my first soil grow and cant compare .

to explain I had some 200w cfl's at one point that's actual 200w cfl not 1000w equivalent or whatever lol. 32 watt is 32watt not 100watt or 150watt lol.

Have your roots started to dangle in the water yet or are they still in the medium? By the looks of it, the roots haven't made it to the nutrient water.

I've had slow growth but once the roots are in nutrient solution they just explode. To speed things up I start in a one gallon tub with 2 inch net pots so the plant grows faster. The roots get to the solution faster and in a week or two I transfer to my 5 gallon bucket with the long roots in or near the solution.

I use opaque 1 gallon tubs like this one, drill a hole for the air line and net pot or cup with holes and put your air stone in. Total cost $1.00 found at any discount store. Works every time for me when starting a plant. (provided you're not using the 4 inch rockwool cubes.)

It looks like you started in a large net pot in a 3 or 5 gallon bucket and your roots are still working their way down. I'm not experienced enough to say that's the reason for slow initial growth but it happens with my regular DWC garden. I have peppers, beans and other shit growing, I just throw them in the large net pot and they take forever to get going.

I'm sure more experienced guys/gals will chime in but I think you will just have to wait it out.

80F isn't a problem. mb the slow rate of growth can be explained by the plant growing more roots first. if it were in soil you could pull it and see. I didn't see any issues so just be patient.

No - Your right, they haven't showed yet and it is in a large 7inch net pot and a 5 gal bucket. Here's the thing, on one side of the net pot, you can see one single root showing through the rocks. Do you think I could switch out to a smaller net ( carefully removing it one rock at a time ,lol ) or do you think it's too late and let it continue the way it is. Hey, what about if I rise the water level up just a little more above the net pot. It has been 1/4 inch onto the net but today I had to change out the water (every 7 days, From what I've been reading....hope that's right) and I lowered just a hair below the pot. What do you think or should I bring it back up...? Sorry about all the newbie questions ....thanks

Don't worry they start out small but they really grow tall, just give it time, the are a slow starter, 5 gallon buckets work great - have experience with that strain, will answer an question

no dont switch them out, if you have one root showing it is the start to great things to come...that root will grow fast to the water source and in a few days you should start seeing the growth that hydro provides....i deal with this on every plant i put into my rdwc system....i am working on methods to get roots out of the net pots faster too.

once the roots start growing through the net pots its game on...just a little more patience m8 and you will be all set. if you dont start seeing growth on the plants that have roots coming out in 3-4 days get back to us.

Oh! I have patience, I'm a school bus driver. You got to have LOTS OF PATIENCS dealing with the kids now a days, but when it comes to growing my little girls, I suck at having patients. It's turned into more of a hobbie for me. I just got done making some silver liquid spray. That's why I need this plant to grow cause it was my only seed left and I don't want to order again. But your right I need to chill..........peace Brother:wall:

Yeah, I would follow RetiredMatthebrute's and the others advice to wait it out. I've read that bacteria/desease (that can kill your plant) can manifest in your medium (rocks) and move to the roots if the water is too high. I recently lost a decent sized plant due to this and I was running the water high because it was drinking a gallon a day and I was tired of refilling all the time. It hit fast and hard, I wouldn't risk it.

if you want to make seeds dont spray that girl in the dwc tub. take clones when your plant is big enough and then reverse those. that way you get some smoke and some seeds. take more than one clone, 3-4 would be a good number to ensure success with rooting and reversing. youre gona want to reverse one of the clones and use that pollen on separate clone. its a little easier doing ti that way instead of trying to reverse one plant and have it pollinate itself.

Holy crap Man, I'm so sorry.......Thanks for letting me know...that's why I like coming here for advice. You can watch all the weed YouTube videos you want (and they are full of good tips) but you won't ever get the answers to that one detail question(s) without coming here and hearing from hands on experienced people. Thank Brother...peace :peace:

THAT'S SMART. I can have extra smoke and all the pollen I want at the same time. See, I am new to all this and that's why I'm here ...Thanks Man:peace:

Bro, from day one that you have popped up here it has been non-stopped questions. Seems like every day you have 2 or 3 new threads asking more and more questions. I knew from the first question you were going to seriously struggle. Why? Because you have yet to finish a grow and already asking about making seeds and breeding and all this stuff that is so far over your head that you shouldn't even be considering it.

Stop asking questions and spend more time reading answers. They are already out there, all over the internet.

Patience is the primary key for growing. Learn patience. Then you can start to learn to grow.

I am willing to bet you have started more threads in 2 months than I have in 2 years.

Just because you drive a school bus does not equal having patience.
