My boss said I could have these old cabinets, I was thinking they would work for a closet grow? basically its two cabinets stacked on top eachother, both have sliding doors to conceal whats inside. What do you all think? I would use it for a CFL grow not planning on getting other lights due to heat issues (live in hawaii). Anyhow I would love some suggestions or ideas before I go shopping for supplies, as of now all I have is a 4tube 2ft T5 sunleaves junior light for veggin.

take out the shelves put in an intake and exhaust fan and mount a fan inside to just blow the air around bring fresh air in low exhaust air up high <cause the heat is up high> and maybe repaint with a nice coat of flat white paint

Looks like they'd be perfect for a veg space. I think they'd be a bit short though for a flowering chamber, unless you do a screen of green type grow. But whatever you use them for, nice find! It's always a good thing to come across freebies that can make your growing easier/better. :)

Not too worried about that since I will most likely be growing some lowryders or mostly auto flowers as this is solely a project for me and the wife to have personal smoke.

wow, nice. looks like a very good setup if you plan it out right ! keep updating how the project goes.
I plan to keep you all updated with pics and look forward to getting some help from all the peeps with experience as this will be my first grow after 25yrs of paying hard earned cash for my herbs.

The way the front slides open you will have a hard time mounting a light up top. I would put 2 holes on each side at the top in the same location on the sides and shove through a large PCV pipe. Maybe you could use that for venting and cooling a light. At least it would give you a place to hang it.

OR get rid of the roll-up doors, buy some hinges and make a door out of thin laminate board or plywood or even simpler: just some mylar that rolls/unrolls for easy access.... .. the possibilities are endless

I just threw out those roll doors and plan to get some mylar and roll it up and down like you suggested, I need all the light I can get with these lowryder/auto strains. Here are a couple pics of my current ghetto set-up, I was planning to start indoor then put on my patio for flowering but my patio only gets direct sunlight from roughly 12:30pm-5:30pm. Anyhow I appreciate everyone's input!
