Chicago Seed Seizures 2013

Never thought it would happen to me, but got my first order seized yesterday, 10 seeds, in stealth, from Attitude, to the midwest. The package was open and resealed with clear tape, but no green tape, no letter, no seeds, only a t shirt. And yes I looked thoroughly.

I've always shipped to my grow for years, once or twice a year maybe, never more than 20 seeds, never a problem. I know all the logic why not, yada, yada, never tell anyone, but ship to your friend, never made sense to me. Has this happened to anyone else, and will I now receive a separate Customs letter?

I went online and saw tons of posts of Chicago Customs snatching beans right and left this summer, what's up with that silly shit? Anyone else feel safer at night?

Does anyone know, definitively, if they flag or share your address? As hard as it is to find anyone busted for seed buying (except the Indiana doctor) leads me to believe they don't usually do much.

....doubtful if anyone on this forum knows this for sure. All incoming overseas packages have shipping labels scanned and stored FWIW. I never worried about it but I will order from someone other than Attitude next time.

I'm hearing alot about Chicago seizures.

One thing I've always noticed on my own attitude orders are that they put a sticker for a return address and its a POST OFFICE BOX. Maybe Chicago customs have realised this too and can pin point via the sticker which packages are from them based on previous seizures.

I'm in the uk though so it doesn't really effect me but hate hearing about customs seizures.

Has anyone thought about contacting attitude to ask them to package it differently and not add the PO box sticker to your package?

OP maybe when you let them know that they have been seized maybe you could ask this very question and inform them that their packages going through Chicago customs are not making it fully intact. Possibly due to the reason I mentioned.

It's because the custom's tag for all attitude seeds orders says Attitude Gifts.
Someone needs to inform them of what is happening BEFORE they close for 2 weeks. They are about to do IN STAFF TRAINING.

Maybe they can change their name for Midwest residence as well as their packaging. So the chicago customs thief is unaware of the contents.

East coast i have no problems. from the time it hits NYC i get it within days. untouched.

Ok, I'd like to hear from ANYONE who's had their seeds seized, and then had a visit from Leo. The only two cases I can find are the Columbus Indiana doctor, who had ordered multiple times with some seizures, and customs did alert the State Police in that case, but as I understand, it was also a large order. The LaPorte case also says he was busted by customs calling the State Police, story is here:
  • Cops discover home-grown pot

LaPORTE (Indiana, U.S.) -- Online purchase of marijuana seeds from overseas caught the attention of federal authorities, leading to the discovery of a LaPorte growing operation.

According to investigators, 19 plants, some ready to harvest, were grown mostly to support the habit of David Bollinger, 57, and Sandra Manring, 49. No arrests were made but a judge was reviewing the evidence.

Indiana State Police Trooper Jason Sample said the seeds were ordered from Europe and delivered to O'Hare International Airport in Chicago.

U.S. Immigration and Customs authorities detected something peculiar about the package and called Indiana State Police.

With an address from the package, Sample went to the home Monday in the 1600 block of Stone Lake Drive.

He smelled an odor of marijuana and was allowed to go in the basement where the plants, high-powered lights, fertilizer and other materials used in a hydroponic growing operation were discovered.

The couple allegedly told investigators they had been growing marijuana for personal use for at least four years.

But judging from their ledger books, Sample said some of the marijuana was sold. At full maturity, all of the plants would have a street value of more than $10,000, police said

So help me out with my paranoia, here, anyone else have a police stop and knock from customs seed seizures? Given both these are in Indiana speaks poorly of the state, but since I'm sure other seeds are getting through in Indiana, what attracted attention to these two orders?

  • I ordered seeds from attitude, the package came opened, taped with U.S. customs, theseeds were not there, the Tshirt was. Ten days lateer the police came to the house where it was sent. A undercover and a clothed officer. They knocked and said "they received a complaint about A marijuana plant growing at the house and they must come check it out.". I said call my attorney as I shut the door, they left...
