Chlorine/Chloramine Remover Drops...

I have a bottle of aquarium chlorine/chloramine remover drops that I would like to use on my tap water for the garden, BUT what grabs my attention is that it states it also neutralizes heavy metals... Im assuming this would include zinc, iron, etc... Does anyone currently use this type of product? I really just curious about the heavy metal neutralizing part... does anyone have any input on this subject? Use the product or stash it away for the fish instead?

EDIT: Oh it says "neutralizes HARMFUL metals" Hmm.....

I have something like that for my fish tank. I don't normally like to add chemicals of any kind to my garden, but since its safe for fish, I doubt it will do any harm, but who know.

I grow for myself but I usually trade my excess to my local co-ops. Since I know others will use my pants to medicate, I go above and beyond to make sure my plants are clean and free of chemicals.

If you have any doubts about the safety of that product I would error on the side of condition and do the right thing by not using it. And for what its worth, I always use tap water. I don't even bother to let it sit. My plants do fine. If your tap water is,bad, just but a $10 filter and be done with it

I've been using them now for a couple of years, no worries. Trust me, a fish is WAAAY more sensitive than a mj plant.

Mostly, I just use the water right from the tap. This would kill most fish, doesn't seem to do squat to the plants, mj or my garden plants. I would say it takes me 100 gallons+ to water everything outside. Inside, I put them in the shower and let it *rain*.

I use the drops mainly when I'm brewing teas or AEM when I need chlorine free water. My system uses chloramine, thus the drops.

I was also told, by a very knowledgeable organic grower, that adding a bit of organic material to a bucket of water will cause the chloramines to react with it and neutralize. I'm just passing this on as I have no way to prove or disprove this.

Thank for the replies guys! You make a good point, wetdog, about fish being very sensitive compared to mj plants. I will use the stuff on a few ladies for a while and compare the growth and overall health compared to the tap-only girls.
