I have a plant that I believe is reaching peak maturity on all the side budding sites. From taking samples today with 60-100x lighted scope, the results are about 15% clear, 80% milky and 5% amber. Strain is african Kilimanjaro (100% sativa) The High i'm looking for is a clear , soaring head high.
I know right now I'm within the window but I don't want to wait too long. The main cola is still growing with very few orange pistols (10%). Should I start taking the side buds and leave the main cola to fatten up? I'm in no hurry, just would like to be sure i'm harvesting at the right time. Been flushing for about 7 days, This will be my first harvest

umm your done.... pass it here. Yes, if some of the lower flowers look like they need another week or so--let her have them, it is just like veggies pick the ripe stuff and keep her going for a second harvest kinda. Clip her in the morning hours so her glands are big and full. Yes pruning is not good when in flower mode or getting ready to go into flower but that late in the season she is just going to try and keep what is left on her for any possible pollen to come her way. Not to mention you are cutting all potassium and the rest of nutes out of her too. you could even choose tio re-gen her but not worth the time or space she will be using up.

Thanks for the input Cali, The lower buds and side buds all look close to where I want them to be. Usually it's the main cola that ripens first but my light comes in at 45's from both sides so I think that's why they are ripening first. Here's a pic of the whole plant so you can see what I mean.

She smells like an orangecicle that just had sex with cotton candy...should be some incredible smoke! Too bad I fucked up on her feeding schedule ( as you can see by all the yellow leaves) Would have had a better yield but I still think she'll come out quite nicely. I Swapped a MH in for the last week to ice her up, she's coated!
