So this has been my latest project for the last month or so. Just growing the mothers up, and now they are almost ready to clone. I understand that this will take a lot of dialing in to get into a rhythm of my plants.

I haven’t seen one of these so I figured I will give it a go. I have seen numerous journals that have gone no where which is very frustrating.

The plan is to take 9 clones every 2 weeks, where they root and remain in the ‘veg room’ for 4 weeks. I then move them to the flowering room where they join the others for a total of 45 cups in the flowering room at any one time.
There are 5 different stages in the flowering room (2 weeks each) and are there for a total of 10 weeks. (I have found that in my LED growing’s, 10 weeks is about right)

Have a few people to thank for their inspirations to me on RIU: Franjan, IlovePlants, Hyroot, Rasser, MajorCoco, Al B Fuct, Gastanker, Amaximus, The Dawg, Endur0xX, PSUAGRO,Foreverflyhi, jubiare, puffenuff, unknown9, Psychonaughtical, Txchilies, Chazbolin, Alex281, Guod, “SICC", Beefbisquit, stardustsailor. :)

A few points for my LED grow:

  • Completely organic (1[SUP]st[/SUP] grow using compost teas)
  • Want to see if I can grow bud 14 weeks in a party cup (don’t care how much at this stage)
  • Using all white SMD LEDS
  • Havent bought anything from a hydro shop
  • Havent got anything from a LED grow shop

Genetics:

The 3 mothers:

  • G13’s Purple Haze
  • G13’s Pineapple express
  • Paradise Seeds Acid

Growing Medium and equipment:

For the mothers:

2 Litre pots with numerous holes in the bottom and sides, (I call it the ‘Crop Circle Pot™’)

_MG_3199.jpg_MG_3200.jpg
  • Organic potting mix mixed with: 1 Teaspoon of 'Ocean solids, 1 Teaspoon of 'Rok Solid'

_MG_3202.jpg

For the New Clones:

  • Jiffy7 peat pellets

For the Rooted Clones/vegetative/flowering:

532 gram party cups made into a ‘Crop Circle Cup™’

  • Organic potting mix mixed with: 1/4 Teaspoon of 'Ocean solids, 1/4 Teaspoon of 'Rok Solid’

The Rooms:

There is not much height in my cabinets, but I don’t plan on going big. I can always tie down them or top them.

The Vegetative Room: (1200mm length x 450mm wide x 630mm high) 125 Watts TOTAL

This houses my 3 bonsai mothers and cloning dome.

  • Housing a 50w cool white floodlight (6000-6500k), a 50w warm white (3000-3500k) a 30w cool white and a 10w cool white.
  • Fans: 6 x 120cm PC 12v fans

IMG_3122.jpgIMG_3125.jpgIMG_3124.jpgIMG_3120.jpgIMG_3126.jpg
Some of my construction wasnt the sharpest, but it has ended up being functional so all good.

_MG_3269.jpg_MG_3263.jpg

The Flowering Room: (1500mm length x 380mm wide x 660mm high) 210 Watts TOTAL

  • Housing 4 x 50w Warm white floodlights and a 50w cool white floodlight. (not finished yet, but same idea as the veg room.)

Growing:

The seeds all germinated on the10th of November.

So this is the start of the journel. So I will be taking clones any day now. I've never cloned before so it should be an adventure in itself.

A little bit more topping to keep the mothers height under control.

Not sure what kind of training im going to employ on the clones. Will cross that bridge when i get to it.

Any suggestions, feel free to shout them at me...i may even consider them... :-P

Right, i better get the Flowering room finished before Christmas..

Thanks for looking. :)

Awesome!!!! A man with a plan :). Totally subbed.

I think running a SOG with LEDs is tough, and you're doing all whites so good luck my friend. It's all about the roots with LEDs and SoGs is what I learned. Without awesome roots going into flowering, you'll end up with bonsai buds and/or weak ass plants. Especially since your lights aren't as intense as what AL B. uses, I say do whatever you have to do to get great roots, though that one picture does show some great root growth so you may be on top of that already :-P . Some Far Red in the veg area will stimulate root growth, so maybe some WWs that actually output some usable FR will do, plus they won't stretch your plants, if they're blue based fluorescent whites. And if you've never cloned before, always take extra clones so you don't spend time nursing weak ones. Clonex is the shit, but honey or that willow mix recipe will probably work if you're hating the hydro store :).

I think you're gonna be great at this actually since you're stealth grows have definitely prepared you for growing healthy smaller plants. Will your whites be enough? I guess we're gonna find out :)! Thanks for sharing this with us and Happy Growing.

Oh and always take a clone with a node at the end of the stem. It's the real secret to successful cloning ;).

Thanks everyone. :) Yeah....it does seem a bit ambitious and its going to be tough. FranJan (or anyone) - Do you think 4 weeks (including rooting time) will be enough in the veg room to develop those roots?

I decided to put this journal up kind of before i 'started', so that people could help where i havent addressed something.

Thinking that i will tie my mothers down a little...pretty close to the lights. No bleaching so far yet.

The 'Acid' has always been a bit slow....had a problem shedding its husk. The reason for growing these strains is purely because they needing using. A little over 2 years i purchased these, so they are plenty old. Not sure how they will go with cloning etc, but they seem to be very different from each other, so it should be a good cross section. And i can alwayz change them out if they are not suitable. :)

^^^ They really are killer roots.

Do you think 4 weeks (including rooting time) will be enough in the veg room to develop those roots?
Genetics and environment will dictate that from my experience. I've come to the conclusion that if the clone's root ball is too small for the plant, they'll flip immediately when put into flowering instead of giving you about a week more of vegetative growth. I tried the 4 weeks clone/veg schedule and it wasn't too successful with my Barney's Farm Blue Cheese pheno but it was working fine with my Super Lemon Haze pheno. So with the right strain, and if you can grow big white-ass roots like that  , why not? But how big are you planning to grow each plant? I ask because if you do decide to go with a 6 week clone/veg schedule you may find 6 weeks might be too much veg time for the plant to grow properly in that cup. Maybe you can grow in two cups. Put one cup with the plant and some holes poked in the bottom of the cup inside another cup. Then put water, (or even nutes), in the bottom of the second cup and let the roots grow into it. Then every other day or so change the mixture and occasionally trim the roots. This way you won't get the plant rootbound and it should grow a bit bigger in that size cup, though it could be time consuming.

Anyway Good Luck with your choice.

How big am i planning on growing each plant? Im not really sure....going to take it as it comes. The 1st run will be the trial. Got to get through cloning 1st... :D

Im not too worried about them getting rootbound as i think i had a bit of practice with my PC grow there. It has been in the same 'Crop circle pot™' for all of its life. (its been a long one) It will be interesting to see the roots on that plant when i pull it out one of these days.

Thanks for the suggestions bruv! :)

Damn those floods get cheaper and cheaper. I just got a 20 watt with just a driver shipped for $20.00, but you got the whole damn light. This company you've found, do they have 50 watt 660nm spotlights? Any chance on any spectral data? Thanx C!

I think it was these guys...??? http://www.aliexpress.com/store/706516

Havent asked for any data....they are probably just buying off somebody else. Give them a email regarding the 660nm. They might be cheap, but they are as good as build quality as any other floodlight i have got.

By the way, My 10w and 30w floodlights are still going strong after 2 grows. I may buy some replacement drivers and chips for my 50's just in case. Easy replacements. :D

So the plants are now touching the lights. At least they werent trying to get away from it. :) Time to tie them down a bit.

_MG_3272.jpg
There is no light bleaching on these plants.

Before and after the training.

I hope that will encourage them to bush some more.
