Chronikool'z Stripped lite Peep Show™

This thread is massive. I've been scouring to prep for my first ever grow, which needs to be ultra stealthy(my wife can't know). I'm working towards an antique("old and large" not "valuable") large speaker with an ultra quiet couple of fans. I like the led strip mentioned in this PC grow but am curious about the placement of the lights. Are they at the sides or top of the PC case. Also are the plants moved to be closer to the lights or not. I keep flipping between going ahead and giving up on this project but this thread has definitely inspired me to press on. Love your work.

Hey Bruv...welcome to the forum. :)

Thanks for the kind works...and this will work well for stealth....my lady friend only found out about it cos i gave her the whole weed tree for Christmas in the 1st grow of this thread...hahaha. :)

So i laid the strip going over the top (covers the whole thing) and half way down the sides...10m's all up. I may have placed some books on the seedling stage of the 1st grow, but as for these clones they have enough light saturating the whole case and the growth proves that i dont need to move them closer to the lights.

The important thing to remember is that these strip lights do not have the penetration power of 'conventional' LED's...so the idea is to cover your enclosure with them. :)

The real hero threads to check out are:

and just starting....

I hope to see another strip light journal here soon..... :D

Thanks heeps bro.
Would you mind a couple more questions about your box or feel free to point me in the right direction. I managed to track down a supplier for a 72watt led specific power supply on eBay. I'd like to go 2 of these rather than a driver to avoid excess wiring as I'm new to this. Would a 60watt work just as well? They are cheaper.
In terms of wiring, how did you include the fans? On a dedicated adapter or as part of the circuit that the lights are on?
I'm also curious as to whether you had one power cable running into the box or 2 on account of the two adapters.
Can't wait to start a grow.

60w will work well. :) I use these power supplies. The power supply (male) plugs go to a female...which i bought separately. Since everything is 12v i wired the strip lights and 12v pc fans up to the female plug...then simply plugged the male (power supply) plug into it....So yes...all on the same circuit. I actually poked the strip light ends out of the PC box so that the adapters were outside....

Let me know if that doesnt make sense.... :)

Looking great man. Love what you're doing with these cups. Were you in the party cup competition?

Thanks bruv! Your grow is looking smashing! (as alwayz!) Would love some of those genetics to play with. :)

As for the PCC....i dont want to talk about it.... :-P

Nah...my shitty light rig called 'Timmmmmberrrrr' and crushed my seedling below....emotional day...

I've read a lot of party cup threads trying to extract all the info i can.....LED has an advantage i think in that you dont have to water all the time....some threads i've read, they were watering 3-4 times a day! WHOA! Having said that i havent got towardz the end of my grow yet....and i am using 510 gram cups (18 ounce)

^LED/Cocohempy gets my vote for longetivity. I'm at my 5th day from watering, still damp tops with about 1cm of water on the bottom of the 12" pot. Aside from 60L res "hydro party cup", that is.

Why bother with longetivity beyond a week, though? I'd be changing their feeding weekly anyway..

Sorry, rambling... peace.

Hahaha...all good bruv....

Its weird....after not watering for 3 or 4 days...it feels unnatural somehow....??? (im having a moment...bear with me! :-P)

But yeah you are right with the weekly feeding...i feed with every watering....and that changes every watering. (keepz me on my toes!)

It's nice to be able to go away, though. Strangely i just had a 6 days spell in soil and the lamps cranked down (turned a couple off) while i was away. A few slightly rolled leaves but mostly fine. Crapped my pants after i got back, when my lights didnt flip at lights off, thinking that they mightve been broken for the whole time or some shit, of course they just turned on an hour late coz of DST. :D

Only small ~1gal pots too.
