So i have 2 cinderella plants growing in 5 gallon DWC. They are from mosco seeds, linked here https://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/mosca-seeds-cinderella-99-bx-1/prod_1188.html .

I have noticed a very musky smell as they started flowering, but can't find the source. The water is changed weekly. Roots look great. They are about 6 weeks into flowering and I am only really thinking they need 3 more weeksish. I increased airflow and did a little thinning of lower leaves, and fan leaves from the middle of the plant. Conditions are good, humidity is kept between 15 and 30 percent. I have peeled a few buds apart to look for any signs of mold and nothing...so i think it is just the strain (Again the smell strted in the first 2 or 3 weeks of flower when it was just starting to make the buds.)

So is it the strain? Anyone have any experience with any Cindy strains. I have grown different skunk strains and never had this mucky smell...Side note, when i pinch the buds, the are super citrusy

Shut off the fans and literally nose to everything till you find it. It could be nothing or it could be a potential poblem. It could also be a leak somewhere. Good Luck

Thanks guys. I will try that tonight or in the morning. I am due for a water change. I wiped the walls down last time, but I am going to get some alcohol and scrub those walls also. I am pretty impressed with the strain so far. Fan leaves are looking frosty and growth rates have been great. one is taller, one is more squat...the squat one actually had something weird happen to it. After I topped, the 2 strongest shoots looked like they were actually 2 shotos thick, and then started developing 4 branches at each node. I am wondering if that density and size of those 2 nugs could have caused this issue (however, the smell started before nugs could possibly have mold due to there infant sizes.
Hard to explain. I might post some pics later when i get that out from under the HPS

C99 was one of the few strains that had problems with botryis and PM. My growroom conditions got outta spec because of a roof leak. anyways..

Just dont let humidity get outta hand. But the seeds I got had a musky almost rotten fruit smell. I did get the pineapple smells later.

I have been watching the leaves closely and not seeing any signs of PM, and really, and the smell has gone downa little with a little increase in air outtake. And the humidity hasn't gottten above 45% ever in this grown and since flower it is more 10-25%, never getting above 30% that I can remember.

I am goign to take them out tonight and give everything a really close inspection. Fingers crossed because I am on my last half O of the ganja :)
