Circulating air between rooms question?

does anyone have any suggestions or ideas for cooling and providing Co2 to 2 12x12 rooms there is a wall between the 2 rooms im tryin to cool both rooms with 1 a/c and also provide Co2 for both rooms with 1 Co2 generator

Yeah man, I am about to do the same thing.

What I am going to do is cut an 8x12 rectangle at the top of the wall and an 8 inch hole at the bottom.. I have extra 8inch fans 747CFM and I will hook one up between the rooms and let the rectangular hole be passive intake.. The rectangle hole needs to be covered with some A/C filters or something o keep light out.

My a/c and CO2 are in one room and I want to share the air... Same as you.

so you are putting your fan at the bottom of room blowin into flowering room and just passive top correct? shouldnt intake be at bottom?

I haven't done it yet.. It has been on my list for over a year... You can probably rig it up either way. My flower room has the a/c in it.. hte veg room does not..
Prolly passive on bottom and active on top would work.. Good thinking..
I borrowed my buddy's sawzall like two months ago... i should do this!

im kinda confused. so your sayin passive intake at bottom blowin into flowering room from veg room and active fan suckin air from flower room into veg room is that correct? would active fan run 24/7 or on timer?

I think you got it.. I am so lazy.. I just started doing this this morning..

I am cutting a 6" hole (that's what size fittings I have... even though fan is 8") at the top of the wall between the rooms.

I will hang an 8" fan up there on the ceiling in the flower room and hook it to te 6" hole.

There will be a passive intake (square or rectangle) somewhere on the wall... maybe the middle or bottom.

I forget where I read a calculation for how big a passive intake needs to be.... I think I will do an 8" square or so..

does this make sense?

sorry to be confusing

yes. do you think with the passive that it would keep temp an co2 level the same in both rooms better then two active with same cfms

I think that the CO2 and temps will equalize with a fan between the rooms and a passive intake between them, as well. I'm almost done rigging mine up.

do you think big enough passives alone would equalize both if not what size fans you think both my rooms are 12x12

I have used the door between my rooms for a year now and that is fine for passive... otherwise, I think you would not have good results..

I am almost done with this.. I just got home with my solution: two 12X6" ractangle air return grilles... I may have to put some of that black filtery stuff they put on A/C grilles to go between..

I cut out my 6" hole with a drill and a sawzall today! I never used one before.. apart from almost losing my eye and falling and breaking open my back, I loved it !! cool tool.

i'll post pics later..

i have an extra 747CFM can fan and 4 foor tall mountain air carbon filter that will be pushing the air out of the veg room and sucking in cold air passively.

well i have a door between but one is flower and one veg is the black filtery stuff to keep light from leaking through vent? i also gathered online that if you cut a 12x 12 square at top and bottom as passives intakes it exchanges air at 395cfm per min rooms

and bugs, one thing guys if your objective is to have the same atmosphere in each room you don't want to suck the air out of the room with hurricane force, you don't need to. That 750 cf fan will empty a 10x10x8 room in 1 minute! You only need a 150 to get the job done. IMHO

Ahh, young sons, I understand your concerns.. Except that the GIANT carbon scrubber hooked to the 747CFM fan, the 6" ducting on the 8" fan, the 90degree bend it goes through, and the smallish passive vent all add up to greatly reduced ACTUAL cfms.

Also, I don't grow males in my veg room! The giant carbon scrubber would filter the pollen out if this doomsday scenario would ever happen..

I'm glad ya'll care about me, anyhow ;)

what did you use to stop light from leaking through vents

I would also like to know what you use to stop the light from leaking through the passive vents? Im about to do this too...

I turned each vent around to create the least light leak possible.
I put my dehumidifier in front of the vent in the flower room to block the bit of light that came through. Next I will put some of that felt-like filter stuff over one side of the vent to catch the rest.

The light leak is not enough to affect my flowering plants, but just to be sure I will seal out all light.
