A weed sitter, I love it lol. The web cam idea sounds pretty cool, if you're close enough that you can run home and fix a problem. If I'm 2 states away, I'd just as soon not know.... it would be kind of macabre, cause I know I would be compelled to watch the crash unfold.:o

go to http://www.cultivatecolorado.com/ DENVER 666 Buchtel Blvd. I-25 at exit 206
303-954-9919 they will have everything you can imagine and they have great deals to
I like this place, first time they were able to match the online pricing and even knocked a couple extra bucks off when I showed tham the amazon price. Last visit wasn't so good, the nutes and pH down were about 30% higher than online so I just went to amazon and 1000 bulbs for supplies. I would like to learn about hydro buckets, i think it is called DWC, with 5 gal pail and a big netpot. Was hoping the store could help set me up but they were all loading trucks at the dock and were too busy. But other than a slightly negative visit recently the place has good people, good vibe and large inventory. i wish they would fix the website and discount some merchandise to be competitive with online.

Thanks. Good to know they are for real and I will just go by their shop and check it out, nothing like the mark 20 eyeball, websites can be somewhat misleading at times :-)

Have you been by High Tech Grow Supply - it's kind of close to the Bass Pro Shop. They have been very helpful with my questions and they seem to have a very large inventory.

Not that one, but Grow Depot on 104th is a great shop with excellent people. I went to that used equipment store off of 70 for an inline fan and a lamp, and had a very good experience. Tonight I transacted some grow equipment and have to say that everyone with whom I have had business dealing with in this sector has been cool, nary a problem to be found. I have to admit that it is taking me a bit of work to adjust to the fact that this is now legal, at least for many of us here in CO and soon most of the rest will be as well. Now about the prices... there is a market adjustment coming...

Yes, its nice to be in a state with the courage to stand up to Uncle Sam.

Finished my cabinet, only waiting on variable speed fan controller, though to be honest I can barely hear the fan run even when wide open with the cabinet door shut. I'm soaking my legal limit of seeds tonight. Plan on germinating 4 of the Snow Goddess and 2 of the Dank #5. Here's the last pics. I promise no more jawin till there's some green in the box. Sorry about the sideways pic.... I'm having issues with my iPad pics and this forum...

I would have been money ahead to just buy a grow daddy box, when you figure in my labor. Currently have about $1,500 in the equipment and will be spending another $300 on a 2nd 240w LED once I see how the HTG unit performs on veg.

the satifaction & experience you got from the build is worth more IMO.

the LED will be great for veg, but expect your flowering times to run 1-3wks longer then advertised for a given strain. I ran a stealthgrow sg602 for 10 months (just swapped to a 1000w a couple weeks back. when it warms up again in spring I'll swap back) and strains that I am very familiar with under HIDs, took an extra 2-3wks to finish.

nice work on the build

Thanks to everyone that helped me with this, especially eyecandi, Trousers & 420circuit. I have seeds germinating and will post pictures down the road of the grow, but I'm going to spend less time on this forum. In the last few days I've been spending some time looking around the forum, and there's an awful lot of hatin going on in a ton of threads.... I'm just too old to waste any time foolin with that.

Ya'll be good and thanks again

there are several good sites out there (thcfarmer, icmag for instance). i stick to the CO section here and avoid the h8.

Thanks. I told y'all that I wasn't going to jaw anymore until I had some green in the box. Well, I do now, so here's some pics. I also built a clone box that I ducted into the main cab for air flow. Also, I spruced up my hillbilly water tower. I found a RIO 2100 pump from my reef tank days laying around and ran a hose from the pump (in a 5 gal bucket) up to the res. which works great for now. May go the RO/DI w/ float valve in future, but my paranoia of a runout with the blumats coupled with an unlimited supply of water gives me the willies.

Out of 6 seeds (2 - Dank#5 & 4 Snow Goddess), looks like 4 will make it and possibly a fifth. It seems like its been a long time coming though as I'm now on my 10th day of germination.

sorry for lousy pics, using the iPad due to laziness.

Ok, so I transplanted the 4 seeds that germinated into 1 gal pots yesterday. I am soaking 2 more of the snow goddess seeds currently. Here's my baby gurls (I hope). Currently have the LED 8" above the seedlings, think that's too close?

So, I hooked up the blumats today... hoping for no runouts. I put in an air bleed line @the res., so shouldn't get any air trapped in the lines. It's kind of silly for the 1 gallon pots, but I want to get a feel for how they operate. The Dank5 is the fastest grower and most robust seedling.

Thanks sir. I'm trying to start 2 more Snow Goddess seeds, but I think I let them get too dry using paper towel method grrr I suck at starting seeds. I think i have it down now though and if those two dried out ones are toast, ill give it another go. Bright side is that I have learned much that I haven't read in research already. Such as... if you're starting seeds in a CO basement in February, you need a heat mat and thermostat otherwise the wet area around the seed won't stay warm enough, at least with my setup. It will still germinate at lower temp, but much more slowly.

Also, can anyone direct me to where I can get info how to add a link to a journal in my signature? It's probably really simple but I couldn't find instructions in the forum FAQ.

Just put the container w the towel seeds and suficient h20 on top of your dvr, play station, 360 or whatever. No heat mat necessary.

Thanks chef, I know I was being boneheaded leaving them in the cab overnight. I bought the heat mat more for after they've sprouted but before transplant, which I do believe is helpful. I saw much better growth from the seedlings with heat under them than without. Will place seeds on Dvr next time. I just hate having missed 2 shots at the CBD pheno.

*pulls up a chair* This looks nice man. Rare to see somebody with a cab that has adequate ventilation from the jump. That 4" fan would cool a small HPS if/when you are ready to move on from the LEDs.

Props to the RIU regulars for jumping in and helping out. U know who u r. :peace:

Yea, LEDs and CFLs will make some really pretty, healthy vegging plants. Nice tight nodal distance so far.

If the LED doesn't work out, I was thinking of using an air cooled tube w/reflector. But what I want is a 150w HPS ( or MH, not sure which would be better?) bulb on each end of the tube to give me 300 watts. The Sqft of the inside dimensions of my cabinet is actually 7 sqft., so these bulbs would give me 42w/sqft. However, I've never seen a tube with a bulb on either end. Or is this a ridiculous concept? I was thinking of a tube like this, I suppose I could could Macgyver an extra socket at the tube outlet, but not sure if this would be safe.

hmm not sure why the pic didn't work... Anyway, it's a 32" long tube...
