City Council CB13-0735 would limit Denver Home Grows to 12 plants per dwelling, PERIOD. NO EXCEPTIONS, NO matter how many adults or red card holders. To me this is a MUCH BIGGER DEAL than the public or front yard thing.

It's flying under most people's radar because it's not part of the regular A64 meetings, it's being done through Land Use (Zoning).

More information, links to email or call The Denver City Council:

Sorry, I posted this in some other threads, but realized it probably needs it's own.

Yep, we need more Denver residents to speak up. I don't need followers, I need a voice. I figured this group is SURE to have SOME interest. The per dwelling limit of 12 is simply NOT WHAT 65.9% of Denver citizens voted for. And Denver is setting the pace for all others as far as future legalization and regulation. So, now is the time to fight, as once it gets codified, it will be much more difficult to change.

Thanks for the encouragement/input!

Good point.

FREE SACKS OF MARIJUANA FOR LIFE, in 2 easy steps:

1. Protect your growing rights by amending CB13-0735 to remove the per dwelling limit
2. Grow your own

That Jeannie Robb woman must go. But, I'm glad the story got picked up, which will hopefully get folks to call their representatives.

Cheers!

THC ON SURFACES AREAS?

At this point she is just embarrassing herself. She obviously has NO IDEA WHAT SHE IS TALKING ABOUT.

I have (I think) figured out her thought process on this:

She is trying to equate a cannabis grow to a methamphetamine lab. I guess because THEY BOTH "MAKE DRUGS".

Just stop, Council Woman, you are embarrassing yourself with your IGNORANCE. Equating growing some plants to a methamphetamine lab is OFFENSIVE. If you think the two are EQUAL, then why haven't we had numerous EXPLOSIONS AT MEDICAL MARIJUANA GROW SITES? Because they are GROW SITES not CHEMICAL LABORATORIES. I take offense to you THINKING Denver citizens are going to believe that malarkey. We request Leadership from someone who KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT, and if you don't find someone who does. Don't make a fool of yourself and Denver by pushing this ridiculous law based on your ridiculous assertions.

Denver wants to have its cake and eat it too.
They consider themselves a "Home Rule" city that is not subject to state laws unless it suits their needs.

Denver and the state got into it over carrying weapons. Denver claimed that it can arrest people for carrying firearms in a legal, state approved way. They said they are a home rule city and not subject to state law.

When the Good People of Denver voted to make marijuana the police's lowest priority the City of Denver claimed that they can not do that as they have to follow state law.

Now they want to disregard the state constitution, I guess by claiming they are a home rule city not subject to the state constitution.
This is reason number 4,080 why I moved out to the suburbs.

I would not be worried about this shit. If someone breaks Denver law that conflicts with state law it will be settled in court at great expense.
Denver loves paying lawyers and settlements for some reason.

I am still amazed that 2/3 of Denver voted yes on 64 and the politicians are still dragging their feet and yelling WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN.

Fuck them. If you live in Denver your plant count is subject to the state constitution, not a bullshit Denver ordinance.

and they passed the 12 plant limit.
if it is ever challenged, it will be overturned

I don't live in Denver so their dumb rules do not effect me.
But, I live in a house with 2 people over 21, so we get 12 plants. (There will be debate about red cards and plant counts)
I currently have 10 plants. 6 are clones. I probably won't keep all 6. the other 4 are vegging and almost ready to flip.
I can grow tons of weed with 3 plants, more than I need. Fuck those rules anyway.

To get around those plant counts is pretty easy.

If you can have 6 mature plants, buy six 1,000 watt lights. Use one light for each plant.
Veg 6 plants under a few thousand watts of light.

You could legally keep all you get, around a pound a plant. Go vertical and get even more.

I would like to see cannabis regulated like tomatoes.
