So I'm looking to be a caregiver in the not too distant future and one of the things for, being a caregiver there is the caregiver couldn't have a drug charge ever. So I remembered when,i was 18 over 15 years ago I got pinched for a small possesion charge and went to court and paid a fine for 200 dollars. I did the nationwide criminal, background check by Intellius and it came up with nothing. I then paid 30 dollars through the state website of where im going to be a caregiver which is also the state the charge happened in and nothing came up. I called the town where I got this charge 15 years ago and the lieutenant said they changed the way they did their filing since then and he said let me look at something else. So he pulled up another thing where it showed I had a small, possession of Marijuana charge in 2001. He said it wasn't a criminal charge but instead a civil charge where I went to court and paid a fine and was done with it. Now I don't know if this is going to screw up my chances of becoming a caregiver or not. Anyone with experience or any knowledge in this subject please help me out. Thanks again RIU
