clean-ER bong? minus water residue

whenever i clean the bong with alc + salt then rinse with water it looks super nice. BUT! after i put it together and it starts drying i see the glass turn a little cloudy. what is that? im thinking about using this after cleaning. good idea? bad idea? ill probably give it a go reguardless. i want to "prevent residue from that glass" to have a nice flashy medicali you know

what i did was took a coat hanger, cut it down and shape it to fit inside the bong. I then scraped the hell out of the sides with it and cleaned all the resin off the inside of the bong and smoked it. The resin on the inside of the bong is WAY more potent then the resin in the stem of the bong

is the glass cloudy or etched up from the salt? if it's not etched up it's not completely clean.

that white stuff is calcium deposits left behind by the water. use reverse osmosis water if you can. thats what i use.

the glass isnt etched by the salt but calcium deposits is what i was leaning towards or hard water stains or something but ill try using a brita filter on the water before cleaning and see if it makes a difference

hard water stains are calcium and magnesium deposits. water softeners take these out. try cleaning the bong real good, then use the brita filtered water after that. you shouldnt get the stains anymore

i always used salt, ice and rubbing alcohol to clean the bong.

honestly after reading these forums i think i've been taking my water supply for granted. people having residues and ppms of 500 out of the tap and whatnot. that's really shitty. my water comes out of the tap ph'd right around 7 and doesn't even register on my ppm meter. no residues or anything. i should probably quit whining about it but it smells like pool water.

ours was good, it used to smell like mushrooms though until they built another water cleaning thinger now its proper good water. Perfect for plants and I assume little ppm because I don't check my PH or PPM and I never lost a plant marijuana or otherwise
