  • FOX FARMS FEEDING SCHEDULES


    WEEKLY FEEDING- per Gallon

    Sprouting and week 1--BigBloom 2TBS
    week 2-- 2tsp Grow Big + 2TBS Big Bloom
    Week 3--3tsp Grow Big + 2TBS Big Bloom
    Week 4--JUST 3 tspGrow Big + 1/4 tsp Open Sesame
    Week 5 same as week 4 unless going 12/12--

    Week 5- OR--day 1 of 12/12-- 2 tsp Tiger Bloom +1TBS Big Bloom + 1/2 tsp Open Sesame
    Week 6--same as above
    Week 7-- 2 Tsp Grow Big + 2 tsp Tiger Bloom +1TBS Big Bloom + 1/4 tsp Beastie Bloom
    Week 8-- 2Tsp Grow Big + 2 tsp Tiger Bloom +1TBS Big Bloom + 1/2 tsp Beastie Bloom
    Week 9-- 2 tsp Tiger Bloom +1TBS Big Bloom + 1/4 tsp Cha Ching
    week 10-- Same as above
    Week 11--2 tsp Tiger Bloom +1TBS Big Bloom + 1/2 tsp Cha Ching


    so i was reading up on fox farms products and i was interested on buying the trio pack for my next grow, however, the feeding schedules seemed a bit "all over the place" if that even makes sense. Everybody seems to have something different to say about it and yes i realize people have different ways of doing things and plants that react different ways to different things. Im a newbie grower so if somebody could break down this schedule i found on a previous thread at the top of the page for me that'd be great, its a soil schedule btw. question 1) when it says weekly feedings - per gallon, does that mean a gallon at once with the 2tbs big bloom? (im not being serious just pointing out these things aren't clear) or mix the 2tbs big bloom with the gallon of water at the beginning of week 1 and gradually feed it through out that week?
    question 2) when it gets to week two where there are both big bloom and grow big listed for the schedule, is that both the 2tsp grow big AND 2tbs big bloom in the same gallon of water? or are they separate? question 3) i've been seeing everybody say for the first 1 or 2 weeks to use quarter strength and half strength of what is listed. please let me know if this is true or if you guys have different ratios that have worked better for you, pretty much just need some clarification on all this! thanks!

I have used FF nutrients for years and its good stuff, but it all depends on your grow medium/soil. If you are using a good soil, those recommendations are WAY high. Think of those recommendations for starting in coco or other inert medium.

I start with a good seed starting soil, and all they require for the first 10 days to two weeks is water. I transplant to a happy frog soil cut with BCuz in one gal bags and won't add any nutrients until about week three, and I start with a 1/2teaspoon of gro per gal.

I then transplant into 3 gal bags into ocean forest full strength after sexing and only use tiger bloom to finish. Again, starting at 1/2 teaspoon per gal about week two of flower and never needed to go over 1 tsp per gal until the last week or two of flowering.

Over many years I have found that light dosing on a regular basis is much better than the heavy feed/flush cycle so many use to try to push their plants. A minor deficiency is easy to fix compared to nutrient burn/lockout. Just look at all the burned out plants on here, people easily over feed 10 to one and most other problems that arise stem from the "if two tsps are good, 4 must be better" mentality.

And yes you can mix those nutes, just do it after you fill your watering container. Good luck!

Thanks for the tips man! But I have acquired all but one answer... How do you go upon feeding it every week? Just a little bit of what's in the gallon container every day or what?

Learning to correctly water and feed your plant is important, that's for sure!

If you're growing in soil, you will start your plants off by just using water like I outlined above. The easiest way to learn is by weight of the potted plant. When you transplant into a new container, you will water it until water runs out the drain holes. Pick up the pot and feel the weight. When the pot gets lite, repeat. 1 gal pots may need water every three to five days when plants are young and 2 to 3 days right before transplanting again.


Now after a few weeks with a good soil I will start adding small amounts of fertilizers mixed in with the watering at the needed times outlined in my first post. I mix it up in a 2 gal pressure sprayer and I would say a good average used is 1/3 gal used per 1 gal container. So however many plants you have I would mix up that amount of nutrients for your watering. If you have one plant mix up fractions of a batch.


Just remember that most new people over water and over fertilize! Good luck!

this is just a baseline where i start and adjust to what the plants need.

i dont normally give it anything for seedling stage.

week 1 and 2 use about 1/4 strength.

week 3 on up usually around half strength.

i only use 1/8 tsp per gal. of the solubles.

i mix whatever is called for all in a gal. of water. feed every other watering and plain water every other. usually i dont need to feed any more in strength, but sometimes a plant will want more and sometimes they can skip a feeding if it looks good.

How often do you water? And if you're saying every other could you give me a schedule? Like how many days between each watering and feeding

there is no schedule. too many factors involved. air flow, humidity,pot size, plant size, and everyones room is different.

when its dry, lift the pot and see how heavy it is. then water and lift the pot and see how heavy.


i water around every 2 or 3 days. so i water then 2 or 3 days later its dry. i feed then let dry then water.


some people only need to water every 4 or 5 days, it just depends on how fast it drys.

also look at the link i posted. its different then what you wrote in the first post.

Heres a question that I still haven't gotten a straight answer for. If I water my plants with 4 cups of water each would that mean when it's time to use nutrients I need to feed them with 4 cups of the nutrient solution?

Yes you want to use the same amount every feeding. I water with a half gallon and feed with a half gallon and it works great

To further clear it up ....which someone already had .....I use a gravity system on my gardens ...using a large tank at the top of the property where I grow .....example --I can dial in how much water my plant count will need within a few waterings .....least say it's 60 gallons per watering ......on the days I feed I would mix up 60 gallons of nutes .....Grow Big is strong so start weak ....same with Tiger Bloom .....the Big Bloom can be ran at heavy feeding without any issues .....not saying to do that ,,,but it's the only organic of those three ....GL

The PPMs are so high on their chart because they want you to waste the product, and then have to buy more stuff to flush out all the salt you just added into your soil... That's my opinion and the guy at my local hydro store too...

Having said that, I will say Fox Farm trio works just fine at about half strength as long as you also use their "flushing" product too...

I agree on there ppms way to high and there techs cant answer that question either why ppms are so high schedual ! I use all there products to the t and my harvest comes out fantastic!!!5 to 7 ozs every plant into flower after 5 weeks USEALLY!!!!

Speaking of FF directions, what about the directions for Big Bloom? It says 4 TBS per gal....... My hose end sprayer holds 15 gals of finished mix. If I have 2 Tsp& mix 5 gal, I use 10 tsp, right? (this is what the instructions say to do and the math makes sense). SO, at 4 TBS per gal, that would be 20 tbs for 5 gal, and 60TBS for 15 gal!!!!! That is more than a whole bottle! So, when I went to use it today, I didn't even bother until I found out what in the world I'm really supposed to do. This can NOT be right!
BTW, my sprayer busted, so I couldn't fertilize anyway....
Interestingly enough, this is my 3rd year to use it, and i do NOT remember using anywhere near this amount. (No, I do NOT smoke a lot of my product! Just for medical use only, so it's not that :p)

Anyone there can help me out? Yes, I'm embarrassed, but I'd rather be than hurt my plants

I’m a first time grower. Just wanted to mention that I used ff trio with my outdoor girls. It came with a feeding schedule that is 1/4th the amount of Big Bloom. The schedule says 3 teaspoons per gallon where the bottle says 4 tablespoons. Somewhere in the middle seems perfect. They responded ok with less and not well with more. Perfect with in-between. So excited!! 9 days till flushing is complete and they look amazing!
