Clone Dome R.H.?

I've been having some problems with my last couple batches of clones. I'm not gettin as many to root as I'd like too or what I was getting last summer. I think my main problem is the humidity as its only 35%. I have a 72 plug dome & I was using a reg heating pad but it would shut off at a certain temp so I got a heat mat from the hydro store & its not gettin as warm. I'm misting the plants & dome walls 2 times a day. Is there a way to increase the humidity in the dome? Thanx.

With the dome on your humidity inside the dome should be very near 100% unless you have cut vent holes or it has vents open. Personally, I don't like to use the dome more than 24 hours, as I tend to lose clones if I leave the dome on too long. 24 hours, then I remove it and mist them several times a day, I get 100% success.

Thanx for the reply but that doesn't really help me. I know the humidity is supposed to be 90%-100% and the dome is on 24 hours a day except for the 2 times I take it off to mist. Do u have any ideas to increase the humidity? Thanx.

Buy a new humidty meter . In a closed off dome on a heat pad misting twice a day it should be 80 + Rh in there
.A trick for your heat pad that shuts off . Put it on a 15/15 timer on for 30 off for 15 works great . Are you filling your tray with some water? It should form water vapor on the dome from the heat pad alone .

Thanx alot King. I didn't even think about using a timer. I know my temp/RH meter works cuz I use it in my grow room. I didn't measure the RH when I used the reg heating pad but there was a lot of condensation on the dome from the humidity. It was staying on for about 2 - 2.5 hours before shutting off which sux when im sleepin or at work. Thanx again for the input, I appreciate it.

If there's condensation inside the dome, but your hygrometer is still reading in the 30's, something isn't right, common sense should tell you that.
