Clone reservoir pH fluctuations and stem issues

Why might the reservoir in a cloner (aka just pH water, no nutrients at all) be rising over time?
I put it in at 5.5 and days later its back to 6.5!

Also i've noticed that some of the stems are "hollow" on some clones, is this the sign of a problem?

what product are you using for ph down?
I use the General Hydro PH Kit and a digital pH Pen (actually i use two pens to maintain accuracy)

as for how I achieved levitation maybe i dropped some good cookies in the cloner by mistake :)

this phenomenon has actually happened twice. The cloner is made of some sort of plastic and Im wondering if maybe some of the material is leeching slowly into the res… or something.

Don't worry about the pH in a cloner. Just use tap water. Also, tap water pH rises over time. Leave a pH probe in a cup of tap water for a few days it will rise quite a bit. Don't worry.
