You could improve your success with cloning by picking up an air pump (like for aquariums) and bubble stone from petco or DroShop and use it to oxygenate the water supply and keep it from becoming stagnant.

this is what i do, i have an old air pump laying around from a co2 boost bucket, and i use a chids sippy cup with the built in straw, run the airline from the pump right into the built in straw and it works great..

if you don't have a pump to blow bubbles in the water, just make sure you change out the water every day or so to make sure it has plenty of oxygen in it..

you should start to see signs of roots before 2 weeks or so max ime..

I've been rooting from cuttings for years using nothing more then a cup and water. You don't need an air stone, instead change out the water every 24hrs, and most the leaves 2-3 times daily or as needed. Keep doing this for two weeks. If you don't see any changes your doing it right. After a week you may see the leaf tips turn yellow. It's completely normal. Keep misting and changing the water.

I did the same thing. After a 0% success rate the first 5 or 6 times I tried cloning in a clear glass jar of water. At the
3 week mark I got roots! However, I found out that real late rooting clones are not worth growing out. They will always be slow
and small yielders.

If you haven't tried the larger 2-inch jiffy pellets give them a try. I get mine on eBay for about a dime each. The bigger pellets
let you take larger cuttings. The bigger the clone the better chance of rooting.

Also, I didn't have cloning luck until I bought a heat mat for under the dome and learned that clones need 100% humidity. Keep
most of an inch of standing water in the dome at all times. That's where the high humidity comes from. If your dome is not covered
on the inside with condensation every time you check, it should be!

Good luck, BigSteve.
