I've lost 3 whole batches of clones from my cloner and I'm pretty screwed.... has anyone ever got clones off craiglist and if so how was the transaction? I'm pretty nervous about doing this, but i need 10 clones asap, like a week ago.

any and all input would be great... pls pm if you can help or have any info

What ever you do look them clones over real good before you bring them into your grow. I would place them in a large brown paper bag with a no pest strip in there for a few hours just to make sure you kill anything that maybe on it.

Ive done the craigslist thing 2 times for clones in MI, all was okay, and I picked up some great genetics, but I was really nervous as well.

Watch out for mites, and meet somewhere neutral.

What city are you near? I would never buy anything near Detroit...unless I felt like getting robbed.

post your general area, someone will help you. What are looking for? what is wrong with your ex cloner. I believe MonsterGardenSupply said they get dirty in the cracks of shit. Run it through the dishwasher a few times. Craigslist is short term solution, you cannot count on others. Let me look and see if I can find out way of cleaning your shit. I know I heard something about this.

I couldn't find what I was looking for. I would say clean your system really good. Replace your collars and everything. Let me know if that works, cuz I am pretty damn sure I heard that is common problem with ezcloner, and I still went and bought one anyway. lol.

I wonder if the Chloramine has been put into the Detroit water system, (or whatever water dept. you utilize).

I know Denver has it and the hydro plants pretty much all died before people figured out what was up.
Chloramine is different than Chlorine. It does not gas off from aging.

That wouldn't make it work then quit though. Chloramine doesn't go away after a few days? That sucks, RO everything these days just to be safe and buy CalMag, I guess.

I have had the same problem with my ez cloner. After roughly 18 months of use it got to the point where I couldnt get a single clone to survive before the stems rotted out. From the research I did it sounds like something a lot of people are running into that have had their cloner running close to 2 years. Before I went out and bought a new one (best move I have made in a while) I tried running diluted H202, straight H202, and even bleach through the system. It would appear clean but my hypothesis is that you just cant get all the nooks and crannies of the pump completely sterile, and they do not break down far enough to do a proper cleaning. The first run of clones in the new cloner with 100% success rate and thick white roots I have not seen in far too long was all I needed to justify the purchase of the new cloner.

Give the TurboKlone (sp?) a look. The way they are designed with the intake fan on the side keeps my res cooler than the ezcloner by far. They also have a lower water capacity which makes it easier to move and maintain (96 site TurboKlone takes just over 4 gal. versus 7 gal to fill the 60 site ezcloner). I even like the pucks better they are not stiff as a board when brand new doesnt give you the feeling you are smashing the stem.

I dont like our EZ-Cloner. They really like the cubes instead of suspended by roots.

Clones from any other source are fine. You run the risk of not knowing the genetics or the mothers history, and the risk of contamination by bugs they may bring in your room. But beyond that, should be fine. Just inspect as necessary!

Huh. I've had my EZ Cloner for about 4 years and it still works like a charm. I rarely end up with a cutting that doesn't have a nice tail on it after about 2 weeks.

I will have to look in to the one you bought when mine takes a shit. Thanks for the info.

There MUST be a way of cleaning these things correctly. I would have tried h2o2 or bleach also. lol. More than likely the pump is what is recirculating bullshit. I would run it through the dishwasher all day, swap out the pump and run a practice run of a strain I am not worried about to check. I have a bottle of some general hydroponics cleaner, I should run that through every few months. I am not going to lie, I just put cuttings in mine and it works fine, I don't ph it or anything. I through five gallons of water, add a glug glug of the solution and check it whenever I think about it. My sprayers were getting clogged with shit and I broke it down and cleaned it Saturday for the first time.

I am in the downriver area and havent had a problem with water. I dont even age my water. Its a weed. I water my flowers outside with the same water. Using an EZ cloner? Sorry man, but I lolled. Getting too technical for your own good.

Use rockwool cubes to clone. I make sure my cuttings get a healthy dose of rooting hormone gel before popping them in the pre-soaked and labelled cubes. Get a 7" humidity dome with vented lid. Tape a small analog hygrometer on the back side of the dome to monitor humidity. Spritz the top of the dome and the plants as needed. I see roots within 10 days, high success rate. You can fit 10-20 clones in a single dome.

Cheers :)

PS. Clean up is as easy as spraying it down with hot water from the kitchen hose sprayer with a drop or two of soap. I let it air dry completely before putting it away.

I used the dome shit. For one that is cheap garbage that adds up quick as hell and I got tired of trying to remember to spray the damn dome all the time. Me and Belle all baked arguing over who's turn it is to go spray that shit. Nope, not me. Couple hundred bucks and I am done.

So I guess we are running this thread in wrong direction eh? Sorry. lol.
Craigslist is no different than ebay, newspaper, and grocery store bulletin board. Shit is hit and miss, check them out real good. Don't buy all clones, pop a few seeds for insurance.

NEVER

EVER

USE

BLEACH

IN

HYDRO

Worse advice *EVER*. (and before people say "oh but theres bleach in hydro cleaners and flushers", no, there isnt, your even more idiotic for believing that. :))

If you use bleach, make sure it breaks down into SALT after 24 hours, and that you rinse with clean water THOROUGHLY after. And then hit yourself over the head with a hammer for not using a gentle non bleach cleaner and water. :)
