CLones from flowers?

What is the difference in taking cuttings from the plant while it is budding vs while it is vegging? I'm thinking in terms of new plant growth more than the difficulty in establishing viability

I have two clones that I took about 2 weeks into flower. So far they aren't doing anything special. I didn't realize that was considered monstercropping.

Bingo! So here is a scenario. I have 15 unsexed little plants ready to top. I have a cabinet that I will flower 2 plants in and the rest (if any females) will be mothers or outdoors when it warms. I need them small for the cabinet. If I flip the lights for say two weeks and let them show their pretty little faces (rear their ugly heads) then top them (more growth than I wanted to waste) would future cuttings from one of these clones always tend to the "monster size" ultimately this will be an indoor perpetual for the flower cabinet.

hey mate i took 2 clones around from a 4 week old flowering plant and re planted back in the soil..grows out do b nothing special..but if u want monster cropping ..u take a clone of a fully flowered plant and revert it back to veg...that will produce lots of side branches with probably 3 or more main stems .. sometimes even 8...that is 3-8 colas ....well dats called monster cropping....and u can further top it more to make multiple colas .....
