Greetings fellow RIUers,
I dont see this covered that much and was wondering if anyone could share the're tips for doing this. I have a mother plant (purple kush) that i have been growing for about 4 months. Iam using a waterfarm DWC with GH nutes phed at 5.5. I have sucessfully took cuttings of this plant and rooted them in rock wool and so far like 12 out of 15 lived with roots growing completely though the medium. My question is what is the best way to put these babies in some soil and get them vegging asap. I have some in some dirt containers and are doing ,well but the initial period when i put them in soil kinda shocks them i think. Anyone here take clones from a hydro mom and put the babies in soil?:weed: Thanks

Just put the cube into soil and the plants will do just fine all my plants are started in cubes and then some to hydrophonic's and some to soil. But if i am growing a new strain and i want a mother plant i start them in cubes in the propagator and then straight from there to soil.Just do a 80/20 mix 80 compost and 20 perlite and the plants will be just fine.I have even took plants out of soil that have been growing in a 4 ince cube and flused all the soil out useing water ph of 5.0 and then put them in the hydrophonic system. If you have never used a hydrophonic system then get one i bought some blueberry from dutch passion and in soil they did not seem to be growing so i took them out of soil flused like above then put them in the hydro system 2 days later they had doubled in size.I start all my plants off in the hydro system once they get to around 7 ince i transplant 1/2 for mothers but i always let at least 6 go full term in the hydrophonic system the differance is outstanding. The thing that makes hydrophonic plants give such big yeileds is that the root system on my last set of plants was 16 ft long. The longer and healthyer a root system the bigger and happyer the plants will be.Get on you tube and make your self a hydro system the most exspensive thing will be the fish pump. Then all you need is a tub with a lid that fits nice and snug pref one that has a inlay so it goes in a couple of ince but it can be done without a inlay ld but it is alot better. If you are thinking of makeing a germanation hydro system leave a message and i will talk you throug it.Well worth doing if you do decide to make one you will see.

totally agreed,if you go hydro, you will see faster results..and even with cloning..
I have takin clones.dipped them in gel.and just stuck the clone in one of the holes in the lid..with a sponge around it..to hold it in place and not letting light inside the tube..the clone will take off like mad.

or u can just taking the cuttings off the hydro and stick them in jiffy pucks, that way the cuttings are already in soil when they start to grow roots...which will be in 5-20 days..some root faster than others..Learn your plants..everyones are diff..just cuz i do something to mine.dont mean yours will react the same..
