my cloning gel just arrived and I really must take clones ASAP but I don't have any rockwool cubes and my supplier also is waiting for delivery

So I have to go for soil, an I was wondering what my success rate chances are.

I'll be putting the clones under CFLs initially, and under a 400W HPS later on

I also would like to know if I should feed them.. they will have no roots but I have a sprayer and can foliar feed them, I have dutch formula grow, and also I have a root stimulator, should I use those and in what dosage?

Also I read right after I take the clones I should give them a dark cycle. Is that right? And after that im going full 24h light on them

Giving the clones a short dark cycle will stop transpiration and thus lower shock to the cutting.

Are you going to be growing in soil anyway ? If so you might wanna use peat pellets for cloning over rockwool, but soil will work for now.

I suggest using the sprayer for water because overwatering needs to be avoided at all costs. The sprayer will also oxygenate the water upon application and thus promote root growth.

Keep the soil just moist never wet / saturated.

Make the cutting, scrape it if you want and dip it in some gel then in the soil.

Hopefully the soil is sterile.

yes, I'll be growing in soil

I am considering building a small bubble cloner with airstone

I have an aquarium store near my home, I guess they will have all the stuff I need

How long should I wait before transplanting the clones into soil? Should I add grow nutes? I have clonex rooting gel, and I have some organic root stimulator as well, from advanced hydroponics of Holland. I also have grow and micro, should I add those in the water? What dosage?

Also about the pump, how many liter per hour do I need, I find all kinds of cheap ones, ranging from 50 liters per hour to 400

If you do that use a rubbermaid tub instead of a fish tank because its easier to manage. The fish tank would have to be light proof and they are hard to dump.

Some of that root stimulator in the water would be good but dosage depends on how much water you have and how many clones. Prolly have some directions on the bottle

The more air bubbles you can get in the water the better / faster they will root, make the water froth.

I have no idea where to get a rubbermaid tub, I havent seen those in the shops I've been

I want to root about 10-12 clones max

The requirement is a water container that is light proof, easy for you to dump, and of the right size for your usage.

I say a rubbermaid storage tub because that is the first thing people think of. But anything you can find that fits that will work.

The reason for the light proof is because roots do not like light. And if light gets to your water you could get algae. This promotes root rot.

For only 10 clones you prolly only need a little rez, maybe 4-5 gallons.

So depending on your root stimulator you will only need to add a small capfull to the water.

clonex rooting gel is alright. i grow outdoors so i just put the clones under a 5ft tree so that its not in direct sunlight and not too much shade.

right now im trying to clone using a hempy bucket style but no results last time.

If you are looking for a DIY cloner recipe that is simple to follow, you might benefit from looking at StinkBud's setup, https://www.rollitup.org/hydroponics-aeroponics/116859-harvest-pound-every-three-weeks.html. You'll find a condensation of all his info on page 75. It is basically just a competent reproduction of a professional ($$) aerocloner.

You should be able to find Rubbermaid containers at Lowes or Home Depot, but maybe I am assuming too much.
