clones, will they make it?

mkay, this is my first shot at taking clones. i know that they are supposed to wilt a little bit after taking them, but we are coming up on 48 hours and they're not looking any better. i pre-soaked my rockwool in ph 5.5 water with a drop of superthrive for 24 hours beforehand and used clonex rooting gel when taking the clones. i've got a hydrofarm mini greenhouse with a heating pad which i had on, but turned off after it got a little bit warm.

someone with an abundance of cloning experience please take a look at these pictures and let me know whether i need to just trash these clones and take more, or just wait it out. my plants need to go into flowering by next week, otherwise they're going to be monsters. thanks in advance for your help!

damn, looks like mine before I got an aero cloner. Spray the fuck out of them and add a moisture source for humidity. A glass of water with an air stone and an air pump usually works well and you have the space to do it. If that doesn't work, try adding a bit more water to the cubes. Worked for me... after 5 times I finaly figured it out, until I got tired and just went aero.

i've been misting them and the dome 4 to 5 times a day. i'll try giving the cubes a little more water and see what that does.

so i guess you're saying they're not dead yet, lol thanks for the input!

Make a bubbler out of a salad dress. bottle... seems to work better with an air stone..
unfortunately, i don't have 12 salad dressing bottles lol. some people seem to have great success with aeroponic cloners. i wish i had some extra cash to try it, but i've just spent a decent chunk on upgrading my current setup to include a controller bucket and an external reservoir. i'm pretty handy, so i could build it myself, but we're tight on funds at the moment.

i guess i'll have to just water them a bit, keep em moist and warm and hope for the best.

use twisty ties or small wire to make them stand up....then spray the hell out of them....and cut off a little more of the leaves....remove light for a few hours...and bam they should perk right up....if they havent already

well unfortunately, they aren't looking much better today. i've attached some pics so that way you too can feel my despair. :(

it looks like i may need to take some more clones and pray that these next ones take. otherwise, i'll have to buy some more seeds which can get ungodly expensive. :cuss:

Did you vent your humidity dome? Clones need fresh air as well as humidity. I don't put a bubbler in mine.... I just vent the dome and I mist the leaves once a day and spray the inside lid of the humidity dome a couple times a day. I also keep a heating pad on LOW under the flat for the 10 days it takes to get roots.

Make sure you are using decent water in your spray bottle. I use my RO water ph corrected to 5.7 or 5.8. I also use the soilless starter plugs.... I love those things!!! I started 4 clones about 3 weeks ago... they all made it with no problems and no wilting... well at least none even close to what you've got going on.

Also, I only keep 2 CFLs on them during the first 10 days.... they don't need intense light during the first few days.

thanks for the insight :-P

apparently, i have a long way to go before i can overcome my brown thumb, lol. i did vent the humidity dome, although perhaps not enough. i may be dealing with a temperature issue too, but i haven't confirmed this yet.

i think i am going to change strategies here and just clone my NL plant. I was going to keep a mom of both plants, but in the long run, i think it will be easier to just maintain 2 moms of the same plant. i have lucked onto a good NL pheno as far as growth goes. this plant is huuuuge, and it's only 5 weeks since popping seed!

1st pic is my NL, and the other is my mystery sativa bagseed. the fucking fan leaves on that bastard are bigger than my hands, and it's a week behind my NL!

i'm going to take some larger clones from my NL either tonight or tomorrow, and hopefully this time i'll get it right
