wow 5 weeks and still no roots!
was the clone 8 inches tall when you toke it?
with clones you want to take that 8 inch branch and cut it into maybe 3 parts, and rute each section, with root hormone, that can be bought and home depot. the idea is to have a little cutting with not musch foliage, so it cant transpire as much and spend energy on not making roots. but I didnt think a non rooted cutting could last 5 weeks, the longest I had one last was 3 weeks. they should root within 7-15 days

5 weeks and no roots would not be a good thing. I had a plant go about 3 weeks as well without roots and it died quickly after that. I would recut the stem again (45 degree angle) about 1/2 inch below the lowest node, then slowly pull down on the leaf at that node to remove the leaf along with a thin layer of the stem. Then utilize root hormone from the bottom of the new cut to about a quarter inch above the node you just removed the leaf(s) from. Then back to waiting for it to root. I just followed the above method on 8 cuttings and all of them rooted between 5 to 7 days.
