So I took some clones and planted them in 1oz containers of promix 2days in they all looked healthy but one by the third day the one looked pretty much dead. About a week in and it's standing agin and has a little new growth. I transplanted at two weeks into 8oz containers. All of the clones had filled the 1oz cups with roots except the one that looked dead at day three. When I went take it out the soil fell apart and I was holding the clone I cut 0 root growth. None what soever. I transplanted anyways sence it was still alive. My question is how did it survive two weeks with no roots? It's been over a month now and it's just as good as my others.

Under watered?

Maybe add a little nitrogen to your water...

Sorry bud.... Losing clones stink
I didn't loose any clones that's what saying it had no root growth what so ever like the other clones I took but still survived.

They are almost two months old now and all healthy. I was just wondering how basicly a stem survived for two weeks without growing any roots?

When we are playing god in a grow room nature can play some weird tricks. I'm still blown away by the selfing of female plants. ???? But, that's why I do it. I have kept them in the fridge un-rooted for weeks and still had them root.

Ok so it's not some weird phenomenon?
I didn't say it wasn't weird. LoL. I think maybe... just maybe, their could have been a slight imbalance in the water that cleared itself up. As for them staying alive upright and not droopy with no roots, I have seen that a lot. I try to forget about my cloner so I'm not checking it all of the time (obsessing). I'm sure I have waited just as long. When I come into the house complaining about my roots, and I do, the O'l Lady just shakes her head. I have cloned thousands of clones;all styles. Personally sometimes, I think some of my success is just luck. I have lost entire batches of clones. Of course in every other aspect of life I'm perfect. LoL. However, when it comes to clones, not so much. Just keep cutting and stabbing. also, this is my opinion. Some plants clone better than others. I know this comment will probably get me banned, but sometimes I pour a cap full of liquid Karma in my water cloner. Causation or correlation, I don't know.

I don't know if it was on this thread or not but somebody mentioned you can buy a water cloner cheap. $50 to 80. When I built mine, actually, a buddy did it for me, they were $300. +.
I seem to have a pretty good sucess rate I've only took clones three times but all three times I had all but one survive
