Just what it says... Floss and share your cloning techniques..
Thought it would be a good idea to get a collection of proven cloning techniques all together in one thread that other's could go to and learn this very easy but important tool that is neccesary for perfecting and controlling thier grows.

I learned cloning to weed out males thats it! Its that easy!
:bigjoint:

This idea isnt going to work unless people are willing to show other's thier proven way's.
Id like to see detailed 1,2,3 instruction's with pix detailing steps if possible..
Im getting mine together now..

Contribute..Overgrow..And show other's how to. PEACE:leaf:

steps for an areo cloner

1.take your cuttings from healthy mother
2.dip your cutting in clonex or similar clone gel
3.put your clone in neoprene disk
4.mix water and rhizotonic and add to cloner
5.turn on pump and wait 3-4 weeks to look like mine

I wanna see this too.. Not about who does what i dont think..Its about what works and great instruction's to help people clone bro..
Its so easy to clone its not funny.. Seeds suck and if ya get a female THOU shouldst clone them by all means neccesary and not waste any more time on the possibility of males!
Clone on brother.:bigjoint:

Ur aerocloner couldnt be more simpler man.. something tells me im gonna have to give that a shot soon.

LOLZ bro i forgot about that thread..Just read that again and cant even remember posting half that stuff in it..Nice bro.. Hows those fans anyways..Tell me u still got them haha?
I already did a thread on my cup of water trick..Im gonna go cut and paste some things in here man..As well as my peat plug technique that i snagged from someone else but kinda modified for my system and cloning supplements.

ILL be back soon with some more cloning stuff.

Ok Here's my cloning in a cup of water technique... The easiest and most effective way I have found to clone by far..Takes a lil more time but PROVEN to work and work well for many. With the least amount of variables and easiest especially for new cloners.

I actually stole this idea from another grower called Widow Maker from the 101 asked question's in the newbie thread..
Simple concept..Cut ur plant and stick it in a cup of water its that simple.. It's been done all kinds of ways.
Here's how I got the best results with this technique..
A post from my cloning in a cup of water thread:
Felt like I needed to expand on this subject considering other growers have begun to do this purely on my rants and raves on exactly how simple this method actually is!

First U cut the plant in the desired location.I prefer the Tops of the plants themselves(Topping). If U cut the stem be sure to leave at least one node for future growth on the stem.(Future Cloning) Or future (Bud sites)

Second Be sure to cut @ a 45 degree angle with a SHARP clean knife, shears or razor. I used a pearing knife for awhile.

Third Be sure to have a cup of water handy to place the cutting in directly upon cutting. Its Best to cut in water so air does not enter the main cutting stalk.

Fourth Scraping. This is done quickly. U want to scrape at least the bottom 1/2 inch "SKIN" off the bottom of of the main stalk of ur cutting.
THIS means removing only the OUTSIDE layer of green "SKIN".GENTLY. Just be carefull.

Fifth U can place these cuttings directly in the cup of water. Although ive been experimenting with dipping them in rooting hormone and superthrive ive had awesome results in just placing them in plain water.TAP WATER.

Sixth Cloning medium. This consists of the cup and the water. I cut my cups.( I use regular red plastic party cups found everywhere !)I cut the cups to size to be sufficient enuff to brace the tops of the cuttings (SIZE of cuttings).Meaning, the upper fan leaves dwell on the top of the cut cup.

Seventh This is the last step. WATER LEVEL IN CUP. I put enuff water in my cup to completely cover the area which I scraped. Usaully 1/2 inch to a quarter. THIS water is CHANGED AND WATCHED daily.

Reason being. Cutting's drink lots of water sometimes so stay on top keep ur water level consistent. Changing ur water only enstills U are taking every action neccesary to be sure ur water will not stagnate on ur new babies.

Another post from my cloning in a cup of water thread:
If anyones wondering exactly how this is done here is my exact process.
Yes the clone in a cup method is the simpleist.Cut @ a 45 degree angle set direclty in a cup of water. Move to the scrape spot.Take the clone and lightly remove the outside layer of "skin" over the bottom 1/2 of the stalk.Dip in cloning solution of ur choice. im using superthrive.dip for 30 seconds.I place in a small plastic cup cut to size to fit " hold up" the fan leaves. My clones are bigger now so i dont have to cut the cup.
I put only enuff water in the cup to cover the stalk i scraped.About a half inch to an inch and just change and refill it daily. Im getting clones in a week this way.

What ive done with OLD in the ways method.
I flip my plugs over. Use a shishkabob skewer and place my own small whole in it. I take my clones the same way for the cup. After i cut i put them in water and get set-up to scrape, dip and place in the plug.
I used superthrive this time.
Each cutting I get in the plug goes directly into the tray. And then i take the next and repeat the process.
It took me prolly a half hour to do my first 4 hah.
I just did 10 this way in about the same amount of time.
From There this time i went with 6 hours of dark. Then on the mat and under the dome.I think the trick is just making sure u cut, scrape, dip and place in plug the proper way.
I used a small aquatic cool blue aquatics lamp both times.Directly over the top of the dome. I cracked the dome Twice a day.To water with 5-10 ml of water each time.
I got roots this way in 4 days.It took the other 2 another day to catch up.

Hope that helps. Thats my entire cloning process right there.
I included my peat plug technique here as well..

Here's the thread U can find it all in lol..
https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/140167-cloning-cup-water.html

BY the way be sure to see my last experiment here.. Nothing fancy just cut the plants, no angles, no dipping in hormones, just followed my tricks by changing out the water once a day and placed them next to my moms in veg and bam..Got roots..Took a lil longer but still could have kept a sog busy with a 2 week demand on it..

So my only issue is getting an aerocloner and i would prefer to build one over buying one because im broke =P the only issue i have is getting something to spray the water up. Im not exactly sure where to find them. If anyone has built their own aerocloner, could they tell me all the parts they needed to build it? thanks

I'll list what I used: $20 or so.

2 Rubbermaid Locktite tubs, about $4.50 at Lowes
http://www.rubbermaid.com/rubbermaid...d=HPProd280057

1 Walymart 10" airstone, "the blue thing in the bottom tub". $2 or so.

1 Walymart air pump, the smallest thay have, $5 or $6 .

Leftover airline, free.

6 Neoprene collars .50c @ x 6 = $3 Like these:
http://www.sea-of-green.com/store/pr...roducts_id=296

Now to be fair on the price I did not include things I already had or will use for more than this purpose.. Such as:

43 watt CFL
HygroZyme
H2O2 if needed
Clone powder from Lowes: http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...920&lpage=none
Superthrive, from Lowes: http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...309&lpage=none

Basically you just outline the 6 neoprene collars on to one of the lids and cut to fit.

Drill small hole in side of tub near the top for air hose, cause water level will be high at first.. Water will be at about 1 1/2 to 2" inches from top of bottom tub and can be lowered if necessary as roots grow.

Place the 10" airstone into the bottom tub and connect air line. Fill tub with RO or real pure water, and with the correct amounts of Superthrive and HygroZyme. Use H2O2 later if needed.

Take your lid of little clones in collars with the powder on em and put em on the tub. Cut clones long enough to touch or just enter the water, doesn't matter which. Clones would have been cut at 45○ angle, gently cut 3 or 4 vertical slices half inch or so up the stalk barely into the flesh. Dip in rooting powder.
Turn air pump on, and make sure to mist the clones 3 to 4 times a day with plain water.

On the 2nd tub you bought, throw away the lid, you don't need it. Place the tub on top of the first tub. It don't matter if it's air tight, the lids arn't perfectly flat. Lets in and out a little air which negates need for holes in top tub.

Place small CFL over top, I am using a 43 watt or something.

Easy and cheap!
And to be fair it's not my idea, I read it on RIU here somewhere. It looked logical to me. And logic usually is the simplest way.
Pics below. This is 24 hours after build.

Alighty I'll post my $20 15 Site Micro Bubble Cloner which has given me the best clones I've been able to get and I've used all ways and have had success with them all I just noticed that plants from the bubble cloner took off way faster than those in rock wool or oasis cubes...

Ok so here we go with MisturBombDiggity's
$20 Micro Bubble Cloner

Start with a 2.5L Ziplock container

Cut 15 holes the size of a nickel for your clones and 1 hole the size of a pencil for the airhose

Get a piece of foam I have a crafty Mom so she happened to have this square of foam that was about 1/2" thick that was perfect!

Cut squares that are bigger than a nickel cuz you will need to make circles with them to plug the 15 holes, these will be holding your clones

After you get your circles cut then split them to look like Pac Man lol then proceed to fill your cloner with them

Hook your pump up I used a 5-10 gal pump from Walmart

Fill up your cloner with water and turn on your pump and ohhhhh n ahhhh over your bubbles for a minute for they are going to take care of gels and powders from here on out! No more spending money on cloning crap!

Then fill that bitch full of cuts.. This pic is back when I first made it and then gals with yellowed leaves were from me trying to clone in just perlite which I wasn't to good at so I saved what I could with the bubbler...

I don't remember the price of each item but you can find it all at Walmart for $20 or less, here is the list of what you need if you can't figure it out from the pics above...

1 - 2.5L Ziplock container
1 - 5" Bubble Bar
1 - pack of airhose
1 - 5-10 gal fishtank pump
1 - piece of foam or pool noodle to make your plugs

Enjoy!!!!
Happy Growing!:bigjoint:

Thanks for this thread. One of the harder things I had to learn about growing was cloning. I learned a lot from Al B. Fucts cloning thread and also got a lot of tips and feedback from a bunch of different people on the site. Especially the Cats at "SOG Growers Wanted". :bigjoint: So none of my method was created by me. So i take no credit for it, but this is what works for me!

1. Identify branches to clone off of...first i'm looking towards the top branches because they contain more growth hormones than the lower branches, and this helps in root generation. I also make sure that the nodes on the branches indicate its a mature stem. So if the two nodes appear exactly opposite of each other its not mature, they should be spread out. One node on the left and then the next one up comes out opposite. Then I'm clippin them using a sharp steralized scissor just above a node and making sure at least 3 nodes appear above it.

I sterilize my scissors and blade by dipping a paper towel in H202 at 3%. Just wipe the blades and rinse with water. H202 is Hydrogene Peroxide, a bottle is less than $1 almost anywhere.

2. I then use an exacto blade and cut a 45 degree cut about 1/4 inch below the first node. I lightly scrape from the node down to break down the skin a little. With the blade i also cut off any other branches except for the top one's of course. I cut the leaves to half and i dip the stem in water and shake it for a couple in hopes of getting any air bubbles off the stem bottom. The apparent reason that leaves are trimmed in half is to reduce the transpiration of the plant. Since they have no roots they will absorb water through their leaves. Its also where they lose their water. Trimming in half reduces the area it can lose water. Makes sense but i don't know if its necessary if you can control the humidity, such as in a dome.

3. At this point I pack the peace pipe and take a hit or two. bongsmilie

4. I dip the clones into my rooting gel and put them into my rockwool cubes. I've had much better luck with Rapid Rooters cubes than the plain rockwool. You also don't need to soak rapid rooters in PH balanced water for 12-12 hours prior like you do with the plain rockwool.

FYI: You know the generic rapid rooters? The kind that looks just like rapid rooters but comes basically in a zip block bag, has no label, and is way cheaper. Its just as good.:blsmoke:

5. Also, I make sure when i put my stem into the rockwool that the hole is tight around the stem. I usually don't use the premade hole because its too large for the clone stems sometimes. I'll use a toothpick and poke through and make another hole. I then mist the leaves, i also misted the rockwool cubes a little.

6. Once they are ready i put them into my clone dome. A green house dome, like $20 at a hydro shop, The light is like $35 bucks, and the heat pad you should get is $35 as well.

I will say you can do this way cheaper than that. Walmart has the domes for much cheaper i believe. You can buy any flourescent light or even use a couple compact flourescents. And you can put your dome on top of any heat source. As long as it isn't too hot. Usually people recommend a DVD player or stereo.

7. I'll mist the dome and the plants once in the morning and thats it. In the evening i'll vent it for awhile. I won't have any water near in the bottom of the tray. I don't want the cubes to absorb it and become too damp and rot the roots. Just make sure the cubes don't look dry.

Thats it, I struggled doing it a couple other ways. But with everyones help on this site this has worked out excellent for me. I start to see roots after 7-10 days.

I usually wait till the roots get nice and long before i transfer them, usually takes no more than 14 days. Also, towards day 10 or so I do put water at the bottom of the tray, enough so that it is just touching the cubes and I add nutes. I use Floranova Grow series at 300ppm. Then they'll go straight into the flowering area at 1400ppm. :leaf::hump:
