cloning for SOG

i just ordered bubblegum for my next grow which i plan on doing SOG with 1000W HPS for flowering, 400W MH for veg. I have never cloned before so i have some test plants growing now that i will clone with. Im hoping someone can help me with a math problem- allow me to elaborate..... The best information i can find says a clone produces about an ounce and takes up half a foot of floor space. I also know the 1000W HPS lights up a 6x6 foot grow space. So with these numbers i will be able to grow 12 clones in 6 feet, and 12 squared is 144. So yea.....thats 144 ounces off 1000W. sounds nice and i wish it was right, but i know its not. At .5 grams per watt, which is considered good, 1000W will produce just over 17.5oz.....so what the fuck? can someone please tell me how my numbers are wrong? thanks :weed::weed:

6x6 = 36 square feet
2 plants per square foot = 72

I'm not saying it can't be done, but I doubt that you will get an ounce off each plant.

What the hell kinda unit conversions are u doing? Math is all Wack. Just like the guy above said 2 per sq.Ft with a 6x6 or 36ftsq. Plot with ur high hopes of an oz per clone that'd put u at 72oz. In a realistic scenario u could get .25-.5 oz per clone with a high yield strain and lollipop them and try to squeeze four 6in pots per sqft. Doubling ur number of plants but reaching the same goal. Guestimating becuase I have no calc. Approximately 2000g. Or 2.0 g per watt which would be fucking amazing in a perfect world. I almost wanna start a SOG instead of dwc after seeing one in person. Or better yet doing a shallow rubbermaid tub and do bubblecloner straight to SOG after a root system has developed.

if you veg and spear, you can get up to (and beyond) two ounces per plant, 8'' centered (stick to stick). 1.5-2 oz per plant is my average. these plants are 2.5-3' tall finished.

I was thinking the very same thing. Kind of hard to ignore those yield numbers, isn't it? :leaf:

Build an aero system and you can squeeze even more in. They are not the easiest to build but they work. I'm currently working out my SOG system right now.
