Hi all,I just took some clones from a plant thats growing outside.I planing to grow them indoors.I was running out of rootech gel and have schultz take root powder. So what was left of the gel I got some on all the cutting and then coated the cutting with the take root powder and put them in rapid rooter plugs in a tray with a dome.Misted the inside of the dome and moisten the plugs with thrive alive B-1 green. The temps in the cab clone chamber are 81 to 85 degrees.Theres two 24" fluoresence 20Watts each about 10" above them.So what I'am asking is do you think that the gel and the powder is a good idea?Or did I just screw it up? PEACE

...over kill... :p i have no idea what will happen, they'll probably do just fine.

would have been interesting if you did a side by side root competition though, to see which one works best...

yeh it seems like overkill, rooting gels I have had minimal luck with in rapid-rooters, the powder sticks better and thats important since it takes time for the hormones to penetrate. But it's a matter of personal preference. Too much hormone will stunt growth not help it.

i have no issues with clonex gel in rapid rooters. hopefully your giving those cubes a verrrrry minimal amount of thrivealive. that stuff is a fertilizer aswell its 1-1-1. dont want to be trying to give them nutes while there rooting. Ive found that root tech and clonex are about the same... Root tech is a little thicker, and a cooler color. i also think it gives me roots mayybe a day earlier. I gob the gel on heavy at the bottom and than dip it twice into the cube. that way the first dip forces some gel down inside. i also cover my dome with a paper towel for the first 2 days or keep it in the shade becuase im forced to root under a 250 mh. Works fine though never had a problem and only clones i loose are the ones i pull outa cubes while testing to see if theyve started

i have done hundreds of clones and and never once had any problem with air embolism .... what about when ya run a bubbler? .. the stems are out of water and only in the mist, what stops them from gettin' air embolism in that case??
