Ok so when my two plants I took clones off of the first time were about 3-4 weeks old really easy to take cuttings from because there wasn't many sites to choose from had 20/20 root, now this time the plants are about 7 weeks old and are huge and I took cuttings and not one of them survived,, so I'm wondering if i took cuttings in the wrong spot , there were pretty tiny , so my question is on the picture below what would be the ideal site to cut the very tip mid branch or very bottom thanks

I like to cut nodes that are about 2-3" long. To get lots of good ones, do some LST. Bend over the top of the plant and in a week or so you will have plenty to pick from.

On the first pic, you would likely want to look lower. You don't want to cut off the main top!

Here is my cloning technique. I am not an expert, but I get a 90+% success rate.

1.) Cut the branch with a good scissor (sanitize scissor before cutting). Cut straight. And IMMEDIATELY place the stem into water. Do same for however many cuttings
2.) Get solo cups and cut some holes along the bottom.
3.) Medium - MG Seed Starter with about 30% added plain (not MG) perlite. Mix together. Get damp (err on the dry side of damp) with PH 6.5 water. Fill about 2/3 of the way. Pack down very lightly. Put a pencil hold about 1/2" deep into the center
4.) Get some rooting gel or powder, a glass surface and a razor blade. Clean/sanitize the glass and razor blade.
5.) One at a time, take cutting. Make a bias cut along the bottom of the stem so that the cut exposes as much inner surface area as possible. Dip in rooting gel/powder. Place into hole in soil. Lightly pack. repeat for each cutting.
6.) Get a baggie and cut a slice in the bottom for an air vent. Mist around the soil and then into the baggie. Place baggies over the tops of the cups.
7.) Set on a seed mat and supply a small amount of light (I use one standard CFL for every 3-4 clones about a foot above the plant)
8.) Mist the baggie every day or so. Mist the soil well every couple of days. Lightly water if it is drying up.
9.) After a week or so, tear the baggie slits open a bit more. remove a few days after that
