cloning in 12/12

i was wondering if it is possible to clone in the 12/12 light cycle. i figure it would be considering the dark period is when the plant produces the most root growth anyways. I have the temp, and i can easily acquire the humidity, but i just wasn't sure because i've always only done it in 24/0 and everything i've read trying to find my answer says 24/0.... any help??

also, what is all this talk about adding molasses when budding to get fatter buds, that is truely something ive ever heard of before.

Clone away my friend, I have rooted buds when trimming the harvest, and my current lot were well into 12/12-my method is to get a jug of tepid water, pick off side shoots with a stanley knife blade and stick them stem down in the jug. I also pre-warm the propagator and dampen the capillary mat liner. When I have finished the big, rough manicure I stack the logs to one side, clear an area and prepare the following; A new Stanley blade, a block of "rootriot" propagation cubes (24 to a block) a clean saucer with a daub of rooting compound, tilted so the gel pools, I use Clonex gel because it works. I sand and dampen a square of pinewood (it's soft, and won't blunt the blade) I then take each cutting , slice it slantwise about 2" down from the tip, close to and below a node then SWIFTLY dip it well into the gel and so plant into the damp cube, when the block(s) is/are full, into the propagator, mist lightly with 1/2 strength Formulex, close the lid vents, put the heat setting on 6 and put it under a CFL propagation light on 18/6. mist daily and keep the mat well damp, but not swimming. So far the success rate is 80% and counting. Indeed some of the first strikers are vegging now (I mean, putting out new, strong growth) BTW, when my first rooted flower buds grew, first they engorged and stank of THC, a sprout shot out the top, and then the flower unfurled itself with all these bizarre-shaped leaves I guess it was the seed pods /brachts. strange though, I thought I had fed wrongly but couldn't find any thing like it online- they are now in their full glory and reek of sin. good luck, hope it helps

if you try to root with only 12 hours of light i would think it wouldn't work. i could be wrong. i've never tried it.

12/12 for rooting? dunno about that, no experience-might work, if you have the space it's got to be worth a go - costs nothing to try it. propagation lights are useful though, and can be used for vegging-I use 110watt CFL, its runs V cool and is a compact unit.

BTW to be precise, I take cuttings at almost any point in the flowering cycle ie under a 12/12 lighting regime. The cuttings are straight away subjected to a 18/6 cycle until well rooted.

They grow quite well, don't they. I have noticed that the plant grown from a flower/plant in 12/12 seems to be shorter and to give a good crop. I read a thread that seemed to say that clones take the genetic age of the mother plant. certainly mine show pre-flowers VERY quickly when put onto flowering nutrients and photoperiod. I am about to take a second cut of my first crop to lower the overall height in my plant tent. this is because growing my first mothers batch resulted in plants of differing height due to the time lag between one batch of cuttings and another. once I filled my clone box I then flowered the mothers. Looking forward now to filling it with a uniform clone army and cropping heavy.

good luck and a full stash

For the who who might look this up lol i do root on 12 12 save on the e bill soon as i see roots i do put on 24 7. Ok i got a 400hps in my closet with this wide refloctor i just put my dome right on top of by the way set up just like a nice tent mylar zipper door 6in duct and fans so i dont need a light theres enough blasting from the hps which is digilux so there ya go. When a plant is in veg its vegetative growth,
that means your plant is physically growing
taller wider and deeper...
deeper as in the roots are growing
DAH!!!
in order to stimulate the cambium(wiki)
its best to have the stem/bark in dark, and (N) free
and in a medium like water, sand or dirt

Once the plant hit seedset that bud to you
its like trying to get you to grow taller when your
mom wants you balls to drop
it ain't gonna happen unless you introduce a foreign element,
with humans its hormones, with plants its 18/6 light

Best is to take you cutting late veg continue with veg 18/6
or take a cutting early bud and go 18/6
this is no biggy just plain old
cambium engineering ...easy!

1423252284185-643869464.jpg future moms. Strawberry shortcake, white widow, super skunk.afgani, ny deisel. In back is my ebb n flow which will push my clones. Will i be able to veg the moms under 2 4foot t5?? Im sure it will root clones but veg. Im not so sure.

Currently all my plants are in 12/12. They veged from seed for 2weeks and i am also wondering if i will be able to pull clones from them before they flower. I plan to do a perpetual grow with 12 plants each in its own 4×4×4 rockwool cubs. The reasone for all the pics is because my veg. Area im worried about, all i have is this old shop light and 4ft t5s which are the ones you see in my flower room lolol. Never to much light.

Just thought I'd come in on this...I took some cuttings two days ago and just placed them next to their mother under 12/12. The mother is two weeks into flower and budding real nice.

The cuttings have tiny flowers on them and look great. This is just an experiment so no stress if all fails. I'm also gonna try and revegg this plant after harvest.

Bro. You sound like me. Cloning in 12/12 was somewhat successful. I've learned that if the cutting are bigger with more bud sites they produce more. So the way the clones are cut kind of prodicts the harvest. These are 12/12 from cutting not clone. Clones are ready rooted there for ready to test. The pic is mother/daughter. Week 4 for the clone. Follow this grow dude!! The buds on mom are soda can size!! Tip: black strap mollasses. My test prove that for white widow molasses works better than big bud and bud candy. Bud candy works but my patients don't want to smoke Skittles. Lol. It's cool to show people though. Bud candy put me at the top in my city.
