Cloning in perlite - need help

Thinking of cloning in perlite. I have left shotgun box from shroom grow, so I will use it as a humidity dome. Shotgun box has holes in each side, will fill ~12inches of perlite, put clones in cloning gel and place them in perlite. Will it work, any suggestions? After then, grow in soil.

I have cloned in perlite, you really have to keep them moist. I mix in 20% vermiculite to help retain moisture while rooting. Why wouldn't you just clone into soil in peat pots if they re going to end up in soil?

Can't find humidity chamber in home depo, but got this plastic box, descent size, with lid. Now the idea is to use it, fill ~inch with perlite (soaked in 5,5pH) and put cuts in these Jiffy pucks/pallets (soaked in 5,5pH) What do you think of this idea? Is there any holes needed in box, ventilation? High humidity with misting and keeping perlite damp.

Perlite keeps humidity, so I don't need to mist that often. Same method as shroom grow.

My plastic box has clear, blue lid, would this effect clone growth? I have 150W CFL light.

You could mix some "Soil Moist" polymers in with the perlite. "Pre soak" the soil moist first, to fully expand it. 1 lb soil moist polymer will soak up 5 gal of water..

Can you correct me if I'm wrong, cutting bottom only needs moisture (that place, which was in root gel), am I right? And what light is good for clones, 20/4 or 24/0?
