Cloning made easy

Thanks.
And yes, forgot to mention - the Jiffy should go into dirt and not hydro setups as the peat will hold too much water cause rot.

In my bigger veg room I kept the jiffies in clear soda bottles cut at the half almost completly but kept somehow attached, put the jiffy in and closed it keeping the "cork" out.
you can however use this system to transplant to coco, i use peat pellets to start my seeds and now clones, similar setup but instead of individual cups i have all my cups inside 2 clear containers in a big version of the cup on cup action.

i dont know if the plant i used was easy to clone or what but i took 3 cuttings off af a tall plant i had and decided to try and clone them with no hormone. just dipped them in water and shaved a little off the side with scissors and put them in a toothpick sized hole in some soil and push it down a little further than that so it is really coming in contact w/ soil. only one of them ended up dying. i was very shocked. i ended up getting some rooting hormone and mixing up a batch slightly on the lighter side. i had a 100% success rate and ive only ever tried it those 2 times. i was always scared to waste a plant but one of the greatest things you can do to have a short bushier crop is start with clones.

Has anyone heard of clipping the tips of the larger leaves to promote root growth?
Or, for multiple root starts putting small cuts in the stem at the bottom where the root hormone is applied ?
I do all cuts under water to prevent air embolisms, with a few drops of super B in the water just as a treat.

the cutting under water is bull. i don't and get 95% recovery.. i may loose 2 out of ten but most of the time i loose 1

folgers large coffee container, add hole at top for fish tank tube, cut 5 slits on lid for clones to fit in, buy a $6 air pump from pet store with small amount of tubing and a few bubble stones, fill can just over 3/4 with puified water, run the tube with bubble stone in coffee container about 1/2 inch below surface, other end to air pump, put lid with clones with stem about 1 inch below lid when placed on conainer, turn pump on, no need to cover, but sraying the leaves 3x a day helps.
roots in 3-5 days, 100% success rate,,

i read squeezing the cubes can compact the medium and make it a lil harder for roots to grow, i always shake out the excess water. good thread i like the mini humidity domes.
