Cloning Question (just curious!

I've noticed that a lot of people trim off the tips of the leaves on their clones even if there isn't anything visibly wrong with them. Is there any real reason to do this? Wouldn't that just stunt growth? It seems like the consequences of hacking away at perfectly healthy plants would far outweigh the benefits....

the reason for cutting off part of each leave is that it helps it slows down the transpiration process because there are no roots yet to replace the moisture that is being lost. it may not be completly necessary to cut the leaves but i seem to have a much better success rate now that i do.

i only do it when the leaves are really big. they wont stand up if i don't cut the leaves 1/2

if you don't cut the lower leaves they'll die in the propagator and create a mold issue.
